“Love this hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

The location is very good, only one block from red line, three blocks from Michigan Ave. The breakfast is very good with a lot of choices. The room is big and the beds are comfortable. My kids loved the swimming pool. I will definitely stay in this hotel next time!

We stayed at the Embassy on our second night in Chicago. We were traveling with our daughter and son in law and 4 grandchildren. We booked two rooms with 2 adults and 2 children in each room. The rooms were renovated since my last stay and were very nice and CLEAN. We love this location, you can walk anywhere from here. The suites are very nice for a family and the rooms come with made to order breakfast that make the room an even better value. They also have a managers reception in the evening with free drinks and snacks (very long lines). The staff is friendly, but this is a big hotel and you will not receive the same service you would at on of the boutique hotels. The kids did enjoy being able to go to the pool after a long day of trekking around Chicago. I have stayed her before and I would book here again. You can't beet the value when traveling with a family.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view or you will be looking into a parking garage. Book your parking on spothero.com...

Now that the construction is over, this hotel can NOT be beat for the location, convenience to restaurants and public transportation, and attractions. We walked to the Chicago History Museum, Navy Pier, Rush Street Farmer's Market, Lincoln Park Farmer's Market, and red-lined to the Briar Street Theater. Awesome breakfasts and although they lines can get long, the staff do try to move it along and alert the guests of other lines which are not waiting. I don't know of any other hotel that I'd rather be for a "staycation".

The room was perfect. A better view would have been nice but they let us check in much earlier than normal, so it was a good tradeoff. The room was clean, maid service perfect. Expect a lot of families with lots of children. We love the free breakfast (but do get there early) and managers party in the evening. Staff very friendly and helpful with directions. The location made it so we could walk every where we wanted to go except the Sox game and the Red Line was only a block away. We checked web site 24+ hrs and got an even better deal.

I stayed at this hotel over part of the July 4 weekend and had a good stay overall. I had a suite that overlooked the State and Ontario intersection and could hear some traffic noise but it was not horrible. I also did hear a few rowdy kids early in the evening but the walls did not seem as thin as advertised. Staff did not advise what time breakfast was served in the morning upon checking in figuring a notice in the room would suffice. The notice was not accurate in the sense that there was already severe lineups by approximately 0830. A letter was placed under the door suggesting using phone checkout as lines were expected to be long but I did not experience this.

This is a decent place to stay in Chicago downtown located on 600 north state st, I had to wait for long to check-in to this place, they had no rooms ready when i walked in at 11.00 AM my flight landed early. I would recommend to visit this place only after 3 PM to get a sure shot room and of course book well in advance. breakfast here is complimentary and spread is good. I really liked their breakfast offerings. Service could be better, especially the front desk persons. Otherwise everything else was fine

Room Tip: I stayed in 11th floor and was very quiet

The breakfast was good but get there early to avoid queues. The hotel room was nice and clean but very noisey as i could hear the people next to us talking and the people above banging around and walking around. other than that great location and great staff just very thin walls and ceilings. Lots of kids as well which could be a good thing or bad thing depending if you have your own.
