Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile

This hotel simply could not be in a better location. Right in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, this is truly a great spot, walking distance to nearly everything! If you're into shopping, you can't pick a better spot, this hotel is flanked by Forever 21 and Nordstrom, and all the other shops are just steps away!
The rooms are a tiny bit on the small side, but the beds are comfortable. The wifi is only free in the lobby, which worked for us just fine! It was a great stay!

Room Tip: High floor for a nice city view

AMAZING service when we checked in. In addition, to coming out from behind the counter to 'guide' me to his area, he also made sure I got my Marriott points. It was so apparent that his first concern was to make us happy and then follow the Marriott guidelines. It is expensive but they try to give you your money's worth. Hotel room - ok but that's not why you are in Chicago. Treat yourself right and enjoy Chicago

In town for a convention and usually stay at Marriott. Great location on Michigan Ave downtown. Watched the marathon from the front of the hotel. Service was excellent. Great checkin but the rooms are only average. Very small bathrooms but the beds are wonderful. Lobby bar is great to watch a game and get casual food.

I recently stayed at this hotel as it was suggested due to its location to many great Chicago restaurants, shopping and other attractions. I'm also partial to Marriott hotels. It was indeed the most convenient location and a little pricey. The hotel lobby and bar is great for people watching/mingling and catching up on all the best sporting games. However, the hotel rooms were not the roomiest and you can tell the hotel is aging. I had to change rooms due to the first room being small and a few cracks in the wall. The staff was very accommodating in getting me to a larger room on another floor. it was much better and more room. I appreciate them for that.

Definitely take advantage of the shopping near the hotel, the Wendella boat tours and two great restaurants - Joe's behind the hotel and The Purple Pig a few steps from the hotel. The Purple Pig is a great experience so you need to be open and try the wine from other countries.

Room Tip: Ask for a spacious room, the rooms are small. Corner rooms are not the larger ones as you would expe...

This hotel is in the perfect location for chicago visitors. It gives you the ability to walk just about anywhere you may want to visit during your stay. Also, the museum campus is a short inexpensive cab ride away. The staff was very helfpful and friendly and the concierge was very knowledgeable. The rooms were a little small and dated but nice. We would certaintly stay here again though.

Room Tip: Ask for the lake Michigan view.

Stayed two nights for a girls weekend away. The room was over $300 a night and is located in a fantastic spot. Fir the price and after seeing the lobby/bar area, I was disappointed in the room itself. Pros: the view was wonderful, the bed was SUPER COMFY, and the location is fantastic, nice staff.... Cons: very small bathroom. It was hard to sit on toilet and close door. Couldn't stand by sink in the middle because the toilet was in the way. At one point in the afternoon, there was a loud drilling noise next door and water started running out of the shower head...a steady stream, no fridge in room, tile/grout/shower were dated and not dirty but worn and there were awkward yellow spots on ceiling, room size was small as well, have to pay additional for internet, no diet coke/pepsi in vending machine on m my floor...had to go down three before I found diet Pepsi, after spending so much on a room, the little things eventually added up to be annoyances. I did not book the room, my friend did as she is a Marriot rewards member. She had a warm shower (wouldn't get hot) and was equally disappointed. I usually stay at the Palomar on the same block. They set the bar high for their competitors. All and all, on a 1~10 scale, I give this Marriott a 4.
