Stayed here with my husband and daughter. Husband here for business, me shopping. The staff is kind & helpful, the location great. The concierge lounge is GREAT! Well done! Mattress & pillows comfortable.

But..a few issues.

First, do not stay in room 3003. Really. The room is very small feeling and you can hear the elevator motors all day/night. It is non stop. The air conditioner fan cannot even drown out the noise.

Also, a bit of warning about window washers or whoever was up going and down the building! My daughter loved it, me...in bed....not so much. Thanks for not warning me to close the curtains.

Room Tip: Do not use room 3003

Hotel is perfectly located for shopping and restaurants.
Staff is great, from the Bellman to the front desk folks to housekeeping, they are all wonderful people and aim to please.
The exercise/gym facilities are loaded with cardio equipment. Good workout.
Now the bad part of the review, the hotel is old, tired and in dire need of a facelift. Room interiors and furniture needs to be updated.
The lobby bar area is fun with good drinks but the noise level is extremely high due to the lobby configuration and ceiling height.
Concierge lounge is awesome. Spacious with good food and drinks.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from Michigan avenue unless you like sirens going off all night.

No surprises, as far as being a Marriott -- friendly and attentive staff; clean, well-appointed room; beautiful hotel, etc. Our room (two double beds) was very "compact" and bathroom was quite small, too. I think this is just owing to the fact that it is in downtown Chicago. It was just fine for two people, though. In addition, we had gorgeous views of the city from the 31st floor!

We got the "Friends & Family" discount, which really helped, although tax and parking pretty much ate up that savings! The only negative I have about our particular room is that the water pipes (including toilet) were so LOUD. Toilet made a really loud noise every time it was flushed, and we kind of got used to that; but then on Sunday morning, when the shower was being used in an adjoining room, it almost sounded like a vacuum cleaner had been turned on in OUR room. (Did not need an alarm clock that morning!)

Lastly, this Marriott is really hard to get to if you are unfamiliar with the city and all the one-way streets. The best tip I can give (and I wish we had known this before) is that Rush St. is a TWO-WAY street in front of the entrance to the hotel. (Although the address is Michigan Ave., the entrance is on Rush St.) If you approach from Wabash on Ohio (going East), you CAN turn right onto Rush and then enter the hotel's half-circle drive on your left. Be prepared for the valet to ask if you want valet parking for $56(!!) or self parking for $41. The parking garage is literally a few yards away on the next corner. You can unload in front of the hotel and then park the car. Be sure to have your ticket validated in the hotel lobby (for in-out privileges). ENJOY Chicago & Michigan Ave., the Art Institute, Millennium Park, Water Tower Place, etc., etc.!!

The Marriott Downtown Miracle Mile has a great location for shopping on Michigan Avenue. A multitude of restaurants and tourist sights are within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable but a bit small; the bathrooms are very small. All things considered, a very nice stay!

Location really cannot be beat if you want to be in the heart of the mag mile area. Door literally walks you out into the middle of it all. Staff were friendly and lobby area was nice. Room had a nice view (high rise tower) and was spacious. Did not have enough plugs for a business traveler. Bed was comfortable, but noise level was high both in hotel and from the street (even on the 33rd floor, could hear tons of sirens). The walls were thin, we frequently heard people in other rooms speaking and hallway noise. Bathroom was small and pretty blah. They did have notices up about renovation, so maybe they will be redoing some of those pieces to make them better. Internet was pretty good. Was at the hotel for a business meeting which was catered by the hotel and I found the meeting food to be sorely lacking (food didn't look good and options were odd for most meals). Additionally,I have a special diet need and their accommodation of it was pretty poor (meals were not good that they brought me outside of the buffets and they took FOREVER to get me my food...wound up spending most of the time allotted to eat in our meetings waiting for my food). I am used to not great accommodation of special diet needs at hotels, but when a hotel does it right, they get a lot of props from me, unfortunately, this wasn't a hotel that did that. I found myself wishing I could go out to eat instead of having to eat at the business meals. Overall, vacationing here would be good, although the area is pricey in general. Business travel-wise, I loved the location, but wished the food had been better.

Great location that was recommended by friends. We were not disappointed at all. Walking distance from Navy Pier, the parks, Sears Tower, and lots of shopping. High end shops and chains everywhere. So we grabbed a zipcar that was only a block away and hit some spots recommended by the travel channel. We took the CTA in to the city then a short cab ride to hotel.

Room Tip: We did not eat in the hotel. To many great options outside!

We stayed at the Mag Mile earlier this year and had a fantastic stay. From the front desk, concierge, houseperson, suite attendants and bartenders-- everyone was great. We stayed for four nights and were upgraded to a room with an incredible view. It was our first time in Chicago, and the Marriott did not dissapoint.
The houseperson brought up a fridge for us promptly after we checked in, and the suite attendant was very sweet, and did a good job, the room was always very clean.
It is located right on Michigan Ave, close to so many different restaurants. Concierge made reservations for us at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, and when we arrived, our server brought out an appitizer that we didnt order, and said it was compliments of the Marriott-- we were blown away.We had the Chicago CityPass and walked to all of the attractions--long walk, but we enjoyed taking in the city so much. The Marriott felt like coming home each night.
