I learned in the elevator that this Hilton has the largest amount of conference space of any hotel in Chicago. And this review is only for the hotel as a conference space-- so that's a bonus!
The location is fantastic, the rooms are all right, and the building has lots of Old Chicago charm, with the now-defunt mail chutes going through the lobby area of every floor. Very cool! The only drawback is that the hotel is an absolute maze. Five days of conferencing and I still don't know my way around! The stairs are disconnected and circuitous, and the elevators are beyond slow. I had a ten minute wait for an elevator at one point!
Still, this is one of your best bets for hosting a conference! The Renaissance Blackstone next door, where they also held some sessions, is newer and sleeker... but also smaller.
