Lobby nice; our room was on 4th floor by the ice machine. Was to be a deluxe double. 2 double beds, but not deluxe accomadations. Dark and gloomy, windows looked at fire escape and run down building. Couldn't tell what the weather was out the windows. Many outlets didn't work. No hair dryer as advertised, so had to go purchase one. In need of serious update. Took the stairs most of the time after waiting several min. for "elevator". Better bring own pillow if you want something bigger than travel size to sleep on. The TV worked and WI FI available in the room was nice. Felt we paid too much for the room when not at all what the webpage pictures showed as deluxe. Stayed there because of price and location.
Probably would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a street view room. Maybe that would give you a nicer room....

The location of this hotel its the only pro I can list. It is close to a subway station and within a short walking distance from Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, The Loop and other touristic attractions. Chicago hotels are not cheap and we have already been in the city many times, but this was our worst experience for sure. The hotel is old, the room did not smell well and we found our bed sheets dirty. Also, my husband found an used band-aid in the middle of the bed sheets, which was so disgusting. Although they said the rooms offered a hair dryer, there wasn't any in mine. I asked one for the front desk and at least they were able to put one in my room. Bathroom was small with very poor quality towels. The elevators were extremely slow and busy in the mornings. It took probably almost 10 minutes to get downstairs. I would not recommend Travelodge. Try to find something better when going to Chicago!

Hotel was steps away from downtown. Great location. Subway and trains were within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and willing to do anything for you. Restaurant in hotel was good for the money. Parking was across the street. $40/night but unlimited in and out privileges. Great hotel and would stay again.

I felt it was in a bad movie! The walls shook the water glass on the nightstand jumped up
And down and then the steel wheels of the "L" train began to howl!
The noise in room 717 was more than most travellers will want to hear. Certainly was authentic big city .........if you like that sort of thing.
However:
Friendly
Polite
Clean
Good beds
Elevator is something out if the fifties but did not break.
Ok value.

Room Tip: Stay out of the"L" room

In middle of chicago, but a the lower end of the range, oldish, lots of noice if you're at the weong side of the hotel (train), but hence 200$ in chicago center is not much
Breakfast is next door , also more or less ok
However the staff is very friendly and kind of makes up for allthis
