It's a Travelodge, so I really didn't expect too much. The pluses: really nice location close to public transit, lots of restaurants around, room was clean, bed comfortable, cheaper than the other big hotels nearby, amenities included fridge, safe, microwave, coffee maker, iron & board, free WiFi. The minuses: elevator service was excruciatingly slow, and therefore usually crowded in the mornings...the hotel is too large for only 2 ancient elevators. Rooms at the back of the hotel have ZERO view other than the brick wall of an old building. Even if you strain, you can't see the sky from the fifth floor. That sounds like it might assure a quiet stay, but the sanitation trucks are in the alleyway below promptly at 5 AM making a racket that sounds like an active thunderstorm. (Luckily, I am a very early riser, so the racket in the alley beat my alarm clock by only a few minutes.) They pipe their hot water in from Seattle, so if you do get up early, expect to run your shower for at least 5 minutes before anything approaching warm water comes out. Some of the front desk staff are a bit surly (Parvez,) and in the morning it is seriously understaffed.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the building have no view, and are noisy early in the morning while the sanitat...

The hotel is located at the heart of Chicago and is very convenient to see the best places by walk. The shopping streets are very close. Millennium park and the Michigan lake is also very close. We have stayed in the suite and I have no complaints on the room. However the elevators are very old and test your patience. You can not expect any room service and the attitude of the staff is just average. Many restaurants are located very close. The Air conditioner is noisy but somehow suppress the frequently plying train noise.

Room advertised as having 2 bathrooms, so I paid extra to get them. Only one bathroom. Front desk wouldn't lower our rate, blamed the problem on Kayak. Also, our lock didn't work very well, but upon pointing this out, it was fixed within a few hours.

we got to our room and checked it out and it was dirty and there were popcans in the bed so obviously they don't clean. we went down to ask to switch to another room and they did so when we went back to our original room our key didn't work so we knocked and there was a man that worked there in our room! with all of our valuables in it! the next morning around 9:30 we were laying in bed and heard 2 knocks on the door, as my friend got up to see who it was, a man unlocked our door and stepped in!! we yelled at told him to get out. there were 3 of us young women so it was creepy that a man could get into our room. and check out wasn't until 11:00 am so there was no reason for them to be in there. This place was so disgusting and inappropriate. When we complained they seemed annoyed to hear about what was going on and didn't understand why we were having so many problems, well neither did we. to park overnight was 35$ just for one night. i will NEVER EVER recommend anyone to stay there and will not go back. They didn't even seem like they cared for our situation and asked us what we wanted them to do about all of it.
