Nice inviting rest after our ride on the California Zephyr from Emeryville CA. Was a short walk from the train station and right on the edge of Millennium Park. A walk to get our Sea legs back and a good nights rest to continue are excursion to Flint the next day. All in All a good night at the Chicago Travelodge.

First thing to say is that the location of this hotel is fab. If coming from the airport you just need to catch the Blue line to Jackson and then pop on the Red for one stop to Harrison. The Hotel is a 2 minute walk from the station.
We stayed for 3 nights and had a double room initially which was fine, if not a bit tired. Unfortunately some very noisy young girls then checked into the room next door and we could EVERY word they were saying, albeit at a high volume. When we went to go out I enquired at the front desk if there was a chance we could change rooms as we envisaged a noisy one from next door. Despite being a busy Saturday night the young lady on reception was fantastically understanding and moved us to a suite down the hall.
The suite had 2 double beds, a large bathroom, sofa and kitchen area. We both slept really well during the stay and didn't mind the absence of breakfast as Dunkin Donuts was across the street and was fine for what we wanted.
Whilst the rooms are a bit worn, the staff are fantastic and free wifi and good location means I can highly recommend this hotel.

First visit to Chicago so trying to find an area close to the loop and parks without being too expensive. Cost $800 for 6 nights accommodation only and if I'd known more about Chicago I'd probably have stayed at another nicer hotel close by for about the same money. Hotel lobby and staff were welcoming but on arrival on our floor it was obvious it hadn't been renovated for some years with the exception of the nice but small bathroom. The air conditioning was obviously not done by anyone with building experience - put in place by raising the bottom half of the window and sealing over, with some foam jammed into spaces. The curtains were short and as such provided very little to no block out of the light. The most bizarre piece of installation I've ever seen! This unfortunately meant that it was quite noisy from the traffic outside. However, the mattress was one of the most comfortable I've slept on, and always felt rested in the morning. The room itself was a decent size with big TV, but no hairdryer was annoying - but you can request one from reception! 12th floor but no view unless you like waiting for the train to pass :) If you want a great location in terms of accessibility to parks, Michigan Avenue, the loop etc, then this could be the place - so long as you don't mind paying for it with average but fairly pricey for what you get accommodation.

No blow dryer. Bathroom sink plugged. No counter space in bathroom to place toiletries. Would have rather preferred a king/queen size bed. Curtains did not fully cover windows. No complimentary breakfast. Obvious hotel is older due to exposure of pipes and wires.

However, staff very pleasant and helpful. Maitenance responded to plugged sink immediately when report.

we stayed there for 3 days. we didn't really know what to expect from such a cheap hotel compared to others in the city center, but this hotel was a good desicion made.

pros:
- great location - in the loop, a minute walk from the subway and bus stations
- great service, the concierge was really helpful and gave us great recommendations and a discount coupon to a good restaurant near by
- renovated bathroom
- general feeling of a well maintained place
- a nice historical building

cons:
- there is a huge parking lot right in front of the hotel but it's really pricy (35$ a day!) and the hotel doesn't offer any discount or coupon or even an alternative suggestion. see end of review for a nice parking tip
- water pressure was low
- the elevators were really slow and there's no advantage in taking the higher floors (no view...) so we'd suggest taking the lower levels
- thier 'business center' is just one old pc in the lobby that costs 0.5$ per minute

a parking tip:
the parking in the city is really expensive. all lots offer limited time parking excluding nights and without the possibility of taking the car in and out. we managed to lower the price to a max of 18$ a day - park the car outside on the street for free between 9 pm and 8 am. when morning comes, park the car in the day lot in front of the hotel for 12$.
between 3 pm to 7 pm move the car to the parking lot across the street for just 6$ until midnight. before midnight just move the car back to the street.
it sounds complicated but it really isn't - these are all 5 seconds from the hotel entrance and you have big time gaps in between parkings
