First off, I have to say, this place is HUGE! A bit deceiving on the outside, but it's really big. Very comfortable, cozy rooms. Nice breakfast included. Valet parking available, but if you play it right on street parking overnight isn't hard to find if you are willing to get up and feed the machine. Tons of nice bars/restaurants in walking distance. I recommend A Live One, a nice rock and roll bar about 2 blocks away. The downsides are minor...Older TV with limited channels, (Typical hotel selection) and some street noise if you are on the outside, not bad, and to be expected in a big city on a busy intersection. The staff was helpful, patient and friendly. It would be OK for a family outing with children, and ideal for an adult stay. We got a great online bargain on this, but it's worth the regular rate for the location alone...Near downtown, but less expensive. I go to Chicago often, both business and pleasure, I usually stay in the suburbs because it's closer to my friends and a bit cheaper, but this Days Inn will be high on my list from now on.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper try to avoid rooms facing the street.

Dear TheDict8or,
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Days Inn Chicago. We truly appreciate your positive comments. We, too, love our exciting Lincoln Park/Lakeview location. If you enjoyed Aliveone, we recommend checking out nearby Schubas Tavern or Lincoln Hall for great live music ranging from rock and roll to indie to pop and more on your next trip to Chicago. We hope that you'll keep Days Inn Chicago in mind on your next visit to the Windy City.

This was my second stay at this property within a year. It is a great location and I would not hesitate to suggest this hotel to anyone. Valet is reasonable at $26 a night. You could save a few dollars if you are willing to park a few blocks away. Hotel staff is friendly with the exception of the security in the lobby at night. The guard was slightly rude to some younger guests when they were laughing in the lobby later around 10pm. Apparently they were too loud? I will return to this hotel as it is a great value.

Room Tip: The corner room (417) had a great view.

If you are staying in Lakeview or Lincoln Park this is a great little place. If you know the neighborhood you know that parking is impossible. Best bet is to use the valet, which is a little pricey. The design is really good in the lobby, although the rooms are starting to look a little dated (late 90's/early 00s). The service was very good, I did have some beefs though. When I was there the elevator was out - they could have given a head's up via email to the customers not spring it on them when they check in. They did get it resolved while I was staying there which was good. The problem with the hotel is the layout. The stairwell is really narrow and steep. Also the rooms have a weird layout and most have "views" of brick walls. This is something the hotel cannot control, it is an old building in a very high density area of Chicago. You just have to know this going in.

Dear Jeff,
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Days Inn Chicago and for sharing your comments. We do offer convenient valet parking at a competitive rate for Chicago. Unfortunately, parking in Chicago is very difficult, resulting in high rates, but we're happy to offer valet for almost half of what it costs to park in the loop/downtown area. We're glad to hear that you liked the decor of our lobby, and we are constantly working on updating all of our rooms; many of our rooms have been very recently updated. We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of the elevator being down during a portion of your stay. Had this been a planned maintenance project, we absolutely would have notified all of our guests prior to their arrival. Unfortunately, a part on the elevator unexpectedly failed, and please know that we spared no expense in urgent repairs. We do thank you again for your understanding in this situation, and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We hope that you will choose to stay at the Days Inn Chicago again on your next visit to the Windy City.

Great hotel bargain for Chicago. This hotel is in a fun neighborhood, Lincoln Park. It is within a mile of great restaurants, bars, DePaul University, Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. There is plenty to do in the neighborhood and the hotel is only a few blocks from the L so it is quick and easy to get into Chicago's "loop".
We paid under $100 for the night for a hotel that would be $250+ in the "loop". There is a $26 charge for overnight parking. But that is also about half of what we paid when we stayed in the "loop".
The elevator didn't work during our stay. But we were on the 3rd floor so it wasn't an issue.
The rooms were very clean and bright. Lots of natural light in the room and bathroom. And there was a big walk-in closet.

Dear PghJared,
Thank you for choosing to stay at the Days Inn Chicago and for sharing your positive comments. We love our Lincoln Park/Lakeview neighborhood (especially being close to the lake and Lincoln Park Zoo in the summertime) and are happy to hear that you enjoyed it as well. We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of the elevator being down during your stay. We are happy to share that the elevator has since been repaired. We hope that, if needed, you were able to use our freight elevator during your stay as our staff members were frequently accompanying guests on the back elevator throughout the time our main elevator was down. Should your travels bring you back to the Windy City, we hope that you will consider staying at the Days Inn Chicago again.
