Very clean and surprisingly quiet in the middle of Lincoln Park. Had some problems with snarky valets.

Probably the best thing about this hotel is the location. The room I was assigned was small, but adequate and clean. My room was a long way from the stairs and one, slow elevator and faced an inner courtyard, so there really was no view, but also no street noise. I suspect the walls are pretty thin, because I could clearly hear the guest in the next room talking on skype (yes, it was clear enough that I could hear him mention it). That was not a problem, however, because I didn't hear any noise when I wanted to sleep. One thing I've never seen before in a hotel amenity kit that this hotel does provide: ear plugs. I think that's a great idea! I would have loved those in some other hotels I've stayed in, but didn't need them this time.

The free wifi was pretty slow, but it worked. The breakfast buffet is really not worth making the effort to get up for: make your own waffles, cereal, toast and sub par bagels.

I didn't have a car for this trip. Coming from ORD, it took about an hour on the train, requiring one connection from the blue to the brown line. The nearest train stop was a few blocks away, about a 5-7 minute walk. Going back on Sunday morning, however, there were no trains in that direction on the brown line and I had to take a $10 taxi to the nearest blue line station because the next bus to the blue line was not for another 30 minutes and I didn't want to wait outside in the cold.

I'd stay at this hotel again, though it would be nice if there were a few more choices in this part of town.

Room Tip: This may sound counter intuitive, but request a room close to the elevator/stairs. The remote rooms...
