This Day's Inn is in a great location, I was able to navigate Chicago's public transportation and get anywhere I wanted within the city (all the tourist attractions, and the airport.) The area is nice and safe to walk in with lots of stores and restaurants you can walk to.
The hotel itself is cute and clean and the free breakfast was nice. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful with anything I needed. The room is tiny, but I was traveling alone so it's all I needed.
However, because I booked through a travel website, I was led to believe that all the rooms had refrigerators and microwaves, due to them being listed on the site as amenities. When I got there, I learned that those are only in the upgraded business rooms and would coast and extra $60 per night. So keep that in mind.
Also, my first room had a very strong smell of urine in one particular spot on the carpet- (probably a toddler accident, it happens) and I had to complain. But they moved me to another room, no questions asked. Some of the tvs have upgraded new flat screens, some of them still have big box tvs. I don't really care about this, but I noticed when I switched rooms. (For what it's worth, the big box tv in the first room worked fine, but the flat screen was a little screwy and would randomly turn off or stop responding to the remote.) In any case, I would stay here again, but probably only pay less than $100/night. I think it's worth that. They also charge for local calls, a slight annoyance because I had the misfortune to break my cell phone during my stay. If you are booking through a travel site, make sure you are actually getting a deal that is cheaper than directly through the hotel's site.
