This place looks like a bar scene when you enter-- lots of young hip types eating, drinking, and flirting (pretending to watch sports). But go back further into the depths and there is a white tablecloth restaurant, with a very interesting and unusual menu and a small but interesting wine list. Friendly service. It's open late for dinner, so that's a big plus.

Expected a lot after reading reviews here. I had chicken livers as starter an the $42 rib eye. I was advised to order medium well but received well done. The $17 glass of wine was not special. All this while my attention wad drawn to the TV over the bar.

Given Gage's proximity to Millennium Park, this restaurant could get away with serving so-so food at jacked-up prices. However the food is innovative, tasty and reasonably priced. All of our dishes were winners, but the pork lion on pretzel bread with jalapeno and kale gets an A +. Great beer selection too.

Best fish I 've had in a long time. Portions just right. Looks like a small restaurant from the street, but plenty of room without being noisy.
