You know how you see a place to eat, try it, it's really great, then wonder if it can get any better? That is Thai Urban Kitchen (TUK). Nestled near the heart of busy downtown Chicago, TUK's menu options are great, from miso soup, to sushi, bento boxes, maki, traditional Thai dishes and so much more, there's something for everyone! I've been for lunch a dozen times now, my last on the date above, and it is great every time. Lunch is super busy, but somehow the wait is never long. Do highly suggest makng reservations for 11:45 am to beat some of the rush. It's housed in the building where Metra is located, with a ton of businesses in the same building and surrounding, so it gets busy quick. Ambience is still great and you feel the liveliness, yet can still carry a conversation with your lunch mate right across the way. Can't say enough but will only add that if you seek a great value, great service, impeccable presentation, and just darn good food - this hot spot IS for you hipster!

Had pad thai - yum! What a great combo of sweet and spicy!

Cool atmosphere for a relaxed "nice" restaraunt... Loved the fountain and pagodas.

The service was decent... A little slow, but our waiter was honest when we came in and told us that the food service (timing) was inconsistant, so if we were in a hurry, he was going to recommend specific items that he could guarantee would be out in a timely manner.

This was on the upper end pricewise, compared to our usual dining establishments ( this = $9-20 per plate; usually we find $5-15 per plate places) but in all fairness, the $18 meal was big enough for two.

I'd go again for sure.

Great place to meet commuters for dinner, (right in Ogilvie transportation center). Love the TUK crab rangoon and Emperor Pad Thai.

I ended up with the pad thai which was nothing special. The place does fill up quickly for lunch. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop again.

Food is consistently good. Especially love the sushi and after work specials. Nice atmosphere. Convenient for those catching the Metra after work.
