Recently spent a weekend in Chicago. First time to stay at a Virgin property. The hotel was great! Warm welcome at the front desk upon our arrival. The check-in process was quick and efficient. They have a great roof top bar (which we enjoyed). The room was clean and nice. The room had an interesting layout that used the space very well and we quite enjoyed it. The bed was comfy and the A/C worked perfect. The hotel is in the heart of the city and walking distance from a bunch of things to do. Would definitely stay here again. We had a late Sunday flight so we asked for a late check out and they were able to accommodate (which was very nice of them) and inn addition we needed some help with our room and one of the staff was super helpful and was gracious with his time helping us out. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place , staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean , very modern hip vibe, and love the amenities from body wash and shampoo /conditioner to the in room snacks at reasonable prices. I love the size of the room and all the details. This is my second trip here, very near my daughters apartment , great location in the city. Couple of suggestions to make it better, have a separate elevator for guests from the one that takes the party upstairs to the lounges, we were in the elevator headed to our room and had a couple of uncomfortable situations occur with party guests. Can you have a couple large bottles of water available in the room., I know you have the small water bottles in the frig, but not big enough and not everybody wants sparkling water. Freshen up the rug, maybe replace looking a little worn. Room service was prompt but not very good, we ordered the chicken sandwich which was fantastic last time, this time very disappointing not good at all. Love having a coffee shop and restaurant where you can sit outside, the breakfast was very good at Miss Ricky’s. Overall a great place to stay and am sure I will come again!

Room tip: Freshen up rug or replace and add large water bottles

Great view, wonderful front desk staff, loved the concept & modern approach. Great location, quiet sleep, delicious food. The room could have been more clean but nothing major. Did not appreciate the drunk college kids in the lobby and in the elevator who were going up to the 26th floor for a party.

Let me start out by saying I was really looking forward to staying here for my cousins wedding. The hotel looked so hip, fun, and modern and I was excited when I found the party was staying here. I reserved a room for a two night stay. From the initial reservation the charges to my card were all wonky - authorizations coming in and out over the course of a month. Until the day before the wedding I call in to confirm everything for the reservation and they say my card declined the advance deposit. I tell them to run it again and they say it was approved - great. After this charge finally goes through, my bank put a hold on my account because it was suspicious. Because of this - I called back and dropped the reservation down to one night since it was already paid for in advanced and if we decided to stay the second night I would extend it once at the hotel. Hours before check in I check my bank account and see that my card had been charged an additional $262.15 - the amount for one night stay plus tax. Upon check in me and the associate at the desk go over this and he tells me it looks like the second night had been taken out and everything looked good on his end - all we had to pay for was the $200 incidental authorization that would be dropped at checkout assuming we don't rack up charges on the room. We put down the $200 on a separate card. The next night while at my cousins wedding we find that the second card had been charged an additional $290.09. I check my account if there was any activity on there but the $524.30 for the two nights was still reflected on that account. This $290.09 charge has come from no where. While still at the wedding we call in to see what this was about - Jason a manager - told us that he was dropping the authorization and to stop by the desk and speak with him in the morning. I do, no one can figure out at this point the charges on the MC or the Visa and we settle on comping one of the nights stay and releasing that $290.09. As of now Tuesday, I am still dealing with this issue as all of the managers I spoke with now have to relay all of this information to each other. No one has been able to break down to me any of these charges onto the card and they've all just been giving me hypotheticals and misinformation.

Beware - another manager told me that the $290 could have been an additional incidental authorization because their system takes into account "spending habits" and if you charge anything back to the room. We didn't charge anything to the room when the $290 was taken out of the account. The only charge unaccounted for was a $68 valet for one night that we were told would be taken care of at check out. I've never heard of a second authorization for that random of an amount and I don't necessarily believe they knew what was going on with that and just trying to save face by telling me anything. Oh, there was also a $2.23 minibar fee for a Kind bar upon checkout when we didn't touch anything on the minibar and especiallllly wouldn't even want to touch a Kind Bar!

My boyfriend who was with me and the card put down were his - has worked in hotels before and mentioned that this should have never happened. It takes days for money to be back in accounts and we did not account for this random charge so it has left us in a terrible position.

They offered a complimentary stay on them - but at this point I just want my money back and I don't think that's so crazy considering how many times they tried to take it for no reason anyway between these charges.

I'm so disappointed, I thought this was going to be a great experience staying in dt Chicago but even now a lot of my family stayed at other hotels in the area and I completely understand why. I understand that this probably doesn't happen often but jeeze. Figuring this out between four days and the customer service I've received has been the biggest headache, I'm sure I haven't made it easy on the hotel staff but they just really aren't able to explain to me how this happened so it's getting unbearably frustrating.

The room itself was nice - I like the modernity of it and the separated areas was nice. We kept seeing earwigs in the bathroom but whatever not that big of a deal but now that I'm irritated with billing - it somehow matters to me now. Hahahaha. Cerise is a club - they close the outside down around 12:30 - 1am due to noise so that was really disappointing too - they won't even let you out there for air.

A total of $1,014.39 later - save yourself the possibility of this mess and just stay at the nearby Wit or the Hilton.
