Arrived from SFO at 1:30am and was immediately and warmly greeted by the late-night staff. The room itself was average for a Residence Inn, and small...but it was spotless and neat. Had an oven, refrigerator and dishwasher and came stocked with dishes and utensils for in room dining. I was originally booked on the 11th floor, and any view I had was blocked by a large building directly in front of my window. The next morning after breakfast, I stopped at the front desk and met Ganka, the front desk manager. She was extremely accommodating, and agreed that a guest that was staying an entire week should have the best views Chicago has to offer! I left my bags at the front desk, and upon returning that evening, was told by Ganka that my new room was now on the 22nd floor, with amazing views of the city (see photo)!!! When I arrived at room #2214, I was stunned at the size of the room ("handicap"), as well as the amazing citywide views!!! There is a full breakfast served in the morning, as well as a "Happy Hour" from 6pm to 7:30pm, which includes light "dinner" items (you can get full if you're not that that picky about your choices) as well as "bottomless" Coors Light, wines, and soft-drink selections (Mon-Thurs). Would stay again, especially if Mon-Thurs. Overall a great stay, especially for the price (under $140). As for parking, you should find cheaper lots within walking distance (12 to 18 bucks), or pay $40+ a day!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, facing downtown with a view "Courtyard Marriott".

This hotel has a friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. It is right in the middle of the action, making it a great spot for business or pleasure. All the rooms have small kitchens, so longer stays (or visiting with kids) can be more econimical. I've stayed there twice and left both times very pleased as it is a good value for the money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up, the views are mostly partially blocked, but not bad.

The location is great but if you're spending more than $150 look elsewhere. Pros - friendly staff, kitchenette in room, minutes from Michigan Avenue. Cons - no safes in room, small and very slow elevators, hot room lacked temp control, no ice machines on any floors, breakfast was a free for all in a crowded room with minimal seating. When we were there there was no fruit, waffle mix, forks, knives, and very slow to restock with only two employees serving over 100 people at any one time.

We had a two night stay. Hotel was perfect. Room included a refrigerator, cook top, microwave, etc, if you were in need of these. Breakfast is included and had a great variety. Large room and convenient to shopping. There is valet parking at a cost of $54.00, however if you park your car yourself in their parking structure it is $40.00.

We only had a 3 night stay, wish it was longer, loved Chicago and loved the Residence Inn. The rooms are big, and more to the point extremely comfortable, from the layout to the bed and couch and chairs.

We caught a train from O'Hare to the city, and it was only a short and easy walk to the hotel, sorry I don't remember which station we got off at, but ask the hotel when booking.

All the staff are amazing, in particular the lady that greats in the breakfast room every morning, she can't do enough for anyone, and makes you feel so special. The breakfast was good, only we ever just eat toast and fruit, the evening mangers reception was also great and an added bonus, and of course all the reception staff gave exceptional service. I hope I didn't leave anyone out, as this is a 5 star rating for all service people at Residence Inn.

Even though we took our bathers we did not use the pool, but do go up and have a look at the view even if your not going to swim, and for all you gym junkies, this is one of the best gyms I have seen at a hotel.

I say, go ahead and book and enjoy.

This hotel is a typical well appointed residence inn in a great location. I stayed with my son and he loved all the dogs - dig friendly hotel. Without doubt the friendliest staff and best free breakfast ever. The staff cooked a waffle with chocolate chips, whipped cream etc for my son. Made his stay.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and it was an excellent experience. They upgraded us to a corner suite upon arrival. They were accommodating in holding the flowers I had delivered to our room while we were out on the town and when we returned they sent the flowers up with a free bottle of wine and a nice note. Great hotel, very affordable. We payed $90/night fri-sun.

Room Tip: I would park in another garage around the block for a lot less money.
