“Good food, but prices were high.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Found this place walking around looking at menus. Business colleague likes seafood so we ate here. He said the mussels we're incredibly good and fresh. I had an good steak with some seasoned potatoes which were very good. Down side my steak and a few potatoes was 40$ or so. Service was friendly.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Attended with group of colleagues. Although I am not a big seafood person, I ordered one of the surf and turf entrees (filet and crab cake). The steak was absolutely delicious, amazing for a seafood place! And while I also not a big fan of mac-n-cheese (tend to think of it as a children's dish), their special lobster mac-n-cheese was yummy! Would definitely recommend this place for both steak AND seafood eaters.

“Average food & high prices!!”
Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

We were excited to try this very hip looking restaurant on a great people watching corner in Chicago! I ordered a $49 steak with roasted potatoes & lobster Mac & Cheese; while my wife ordered tge Mahi-Mahi (around $38) with Brussel sprouts & asparagus. Both dishes were blah & over cooked. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. They seated the only other party right next to us & we noticed they got bread with their meal...we had to ask for ours. For the price or even WAY less..there are MUCH better places to eat within a few blocks! We live a couple blocks away...& we won't be back!

“Nice atmosphere and dinner”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

This restaurant has both an informal and a more formal downstairs area, the ambience is very good and service excellent. The menu is varied, mainly seafood which we'd recommend. The Striped Bass and Mahu Mahu was of fine quality and well cooked. Portions were not oversized which is always a good sign in the US. Appetisers looked equally good and we shared crab cakes - they were fantastic with a magic sauce. Wine list was good with ranges of varieties and prices to suit all. We'd certainly return when next in Chicago.

“Pretty good, would not come back”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

Dined at Devon Grill last night with my wife. First impressions count, and ours wasn't a good one: the hostess was curt and unpleasant, never smiled, and barely looked up when asked for our reservation. Having made it past that stage, the seating at this place is not cozy or inviting. We requested a different table, and eventually sat near the enormous bar, which occupies the majority of square footage on the ground level. While acceptable, the atmosphere is lacking here. Crab cakes for starters were delicious, lots of crab meat and baked, not fried, made for a tasty and guiltless start. Lobster tail was ok, but I have had better. Service was good, not exceptional. Overall a mixed experience, wouldn't give this one more than 3 stars.
