“Very good staples”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

I used to love going to Devon Seafood Grill in Philadelphia, but the downtown Chicago location is actually much nicer, decor-wise, and very modern. The ambiance is excellent. I come for certain seafood staples. I mostly do soups and appetizers and wine (the wine selection is extensive, and they have great cocktails, also) The lobster bisque is my absolute favorite and is excellent. The crab cakes were decent, though I have had much better. The calamari is very good. The salmon dishes are excellent. I will get a little more adventurous and try one of the whitefish or swordfish entrees soon. I had an excellent waiter last time I went. I checked in on Foursquare after the bill was paid, but I will remember to check in before-hand next time for the free calamari appetizer.

“Good food and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

We really enjoyed our dinner at Devon Seafood Grill. Our server Josh was great and he offered awesome recommendations. We started with the large order of mussels that were excellent. I ordered the mixed grill with brussel sprouts and asparagus. The mixed grill included shrimp, scallops, salmon and a crab cake. My husband ordered the bay scallops with lobster mac and cheese and brussel spouts. The highlights of the meal were the salmon, crab cake, brussel sprouts and lobster mac and cheese. This was a nice meal and dining experience.

“Great Service But Food is Just Average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

Fine location and comfortable decor. Wait staff is top notch but seafood entrees are just OK. Crab cakes were lukewarm when brought to the table. Salmon was undercooked and scallops were average. Prices are on par for a nice restaurant in this area of the city.

“Wonderful”

The food was excellent and large portions were served. Our waiter (really wish I could remember his name!) was one of the best I have ever had - he explained everything and was very attentive without hovering.

“BEST Seafood in Chicago”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

We are residents of a Chicago suburb, and have tried many restaurants in Chicago. Devon is by far the classiest and tastiest seafood restaurant in the city. It is close to Michigan Avenue but still kind of "off the beaten path" so that you feel like you're getting an authentic city experience without going to a super touristy place. We LOVE this place.
