Besides being SO much cheaper than a hotel in Chicago, I feel like I have now LIVED here! The house is fully stocked (all you need to buy are perishables), the neighborhood is nice, the El is only 1 1/2 blocks away!!! This place has a living room, dining room, den, nice kitchen, breakfast area, 2 balconies, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths!!! It is really lovely!!! I am so glad we opted for this instead of a hotel!

We loved our stay at Chicago Guest House, the Lakeview Suite. It was a great location(3 blocks west of Wrigley, great restaurants, bars all within a short walk through a beautiful neighborhood), and fabulous apartment. Every detail was thought of by you- the guide book you’ve put together is amazing, the kitchen fully equipped and baths perfect, lots of guest towels, shampoo, body wash etc. You’ve thought of everything. We loved it and will certainly return. Thank you so much!

Room Tip: 3 Bedrooms-1 King and 2 Queen and 2 full baths made traveling with 6 ideal. It's a third floor w...

We came to Chicago to see Bruce Springsteen @ Wrigley Field, see the sights and go to a Bears game and we were looking for somewhere close to our intended activities and in a nice area.
Well what a fantastic property we stayed at, the Southport Suite was perfect for our needs and the location was absolutley phenomenal. Everything you might need is basically in walking distance to the suite, and being right near Wrigley field was perfect for us. the neighborhood was really nice, upscale, lots of young families and lots of things to see and do right close by. The number of nice restaurants nearby was mind boggling.
One of our party is contemplating bringing his wife to Chicago in the future and they already know where they are planning to stay. Right here or one of Chicago Guest Houses nearby properties.

Upon our arrival in Chicago our group of 3 couples enjoyed a relaxing first evening in the lovely backyard/patio of our "home" on Newport. What a great way to acclimate to the faster pace of the next 3 days! We were able to park our van in the garage, and walk to Wrigley Field & all the shopping & restaurants on Southport. The apartment was beautifully appointed with everything we needed. The spacious living space made our group gatherings very comfortable and enjoyable. The owner was quick to respond to our communications and provided extensive and well organized information about the neighborhood, tourist options, transportation, etc. This will be our go-to lodging choice when we visit the city!

We recently had a small guys college reunion in Chicago and stayed in the Shoreline and Lakeview Suites. Given the lack of hotels in the area, staying here worked out perfectly. The house is nicely furnished, clean, and has upgraded appliances and electronics. The neighborhood is quiet, but only about 4 blocks from the bars and restaurants in Wrigleyville. We had plans to go downtown, but given the location of the house and its close proximity to all things fun in Wrigleyville, we never made it...

The weekend we were in town was during a Cubs homestand, which was awesome!! We went to a game and the crowd that pours into the streets after was a blast.

Another pleasant surprise was the house's proximity to Southport. Southport is another strip that has a handful of restaurants and pubs that don't have the crowds the bars in Wrigleyville do... Southport is about 2 blocks the opposite direction from Wrigley...

Recommended places to go near the house:
Goose Island Brewery (Wrigleyville) - awesome beers and the best burger I had while we were there...
Rockitburger (Wrigleyville) - good... but I think the burger I had at Goose Island was better... The mac and cheese here was awesome.
Deuces (Wrigleyville) - good bar for a drink, a little more classed up than some of the other bars in the area
Sluggers (Wrigleyville) - awesome after a game, batting cages upstairs
Wheel House (Southport) - solid Irish pub
Mystic Celt (Southport) - another solid Irish pub... this place was fun and slammed Saturday night.
We went to a few other spots (Vines, Trace, Smart Bar, Bernie's) but neither was all that special.

We recently stayed at the Newport location of the Chicago Guest House. In planning the trip, I was impressed by the responsiveness and flexibility of the owner. The actual rental was as depicted--lovely, clean, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. But we had no idea how much we would love staying at a rental vs a hotel! We had so much space. With the convenience of having a kitchen, we had so much flexibility to keep the early rising three-year-old fed and entertained while not disturbing the rest of the family. Great rental, great owner, great neighborhood--we would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

A group of friends and I recently visited Chicago and we wanted a place that wasn't a hotel and was in a great location. We were more than pleased with the Clark Suite on Newport Ave.

We had a total of 7 people in our party and I must say it never seemed cramped for a minute. The place is so spacious and the pictures really do not do it justice.

I hope to stay here many times in the future on our trip to Chicago. What a great find!
