“Loved our visit”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

We had never been to Chicago and had no clue what "The Loop" or downtown Chicago was all about. We are so glad we chose to stay at this great hotel so conveniently located to everything we wanted to see. Cabs are always at the ready, and although we rented a car, we had no need of one for our entire weekend stay. We found the room comfortable and quiet, although small, the staff friendly and helpful and we appreciated the complimentary breakfast although the breakfast area is small. We attended a show at the adjoining Bank of America Theatre while we were there. We felt safe walking in this neighbourhood and there are lots of good restaurants close by. We definitely recommend it and will choose to stay here again. A+++

We stayed here for a week and it was a very pleasant stay. The front desk and porter service is very nice and accommodating, the room was quite spacey and clean, the linens were fresh and clean, the beds and pillows were most comfortable, the breakfast area and service was great: plentiful, good quality food and clean. And it was surprisingly quiet on our floor (though you would here doors open or close, but not at night time). The elevators worked like a clock, we never had to wait too long.
Most important for us was LOCATION. Close to every attraction in the loop and very reachable by public transportation or even walking outside the loop. Plus it's next door to the
Bank of America Theatre were we watched "The book of Mormon" show which was absolutely amazing entertainment.
We were using our rewards points and stayed for "free", but even if you pay $179 p/night seems to be a very good value for all the above.
I guess the only down side was no refrigerator and microwave in our room, but some rooms we saw had it and the maid told us if we requested it they would bring it to the room.
Still we are very happy with our stay and highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: I guess top floors are quieter.

They were overly busy when we arrived - we were very early - but Oscar didn't miss a beat. He got us our room and then checked to make sure it was OK. The morning hot breakfast was a real treat. We walked to Millennium Park, Grant Park, the Museum Campus, Navy Pier, the river and lake cruise boats with ease. We will stay there again. They couldn't have been more helpful with restaurant information and everything else. The employees were always greeting us with a smile and asking if they could help with anything. They made Chicago a first class destination place for us.

We were in town to see the Book of Mormon. I booked this hotel because it was in the same building as the Bank of America theater. The staff treated us so wonderful. They gave us a map of places to shop and eat that were within walking distance. The breakfast was great. I really liked the fact that you had to put your room key into the elevator to get to your room. It made us feel very safe. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely stay there again!

It is a very nice building totally renovated. The hotel is in a walking distance from “blue line” to Chicago O’Hare. I have read some reviews complaining about the noise of the train in the downtown, and I must admit that I could hear something that I associated to a train, but it did not disturb me at all, the room was quiet. Nice mattress and shower. The staff is very efficient, we checked in less than 5 minutes, and even with a lot of people having breakfast at the same time, the buffet had all items, all the time.

It is a business hotel, so don’t expect many things to do in the property. The breakfast was very crowded, but I worked this around eating in my room. The elevators were busy all the time, so you have to wait 5 minutes every time we need it.

Room Tip: I have read some reviews complaining about the noise of the train in the downtown, and I must admit...

Green Features: I couldn't notice any extra care with environmental than the usual for big chains.

This hotel is in the remodeled offices above the historic Ohio Theater in the heart of The Loop within easy walking distance of the theaters, the Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium and Grant Parks, Willis Tower and the financial district as well as many restaurants. A little further but still walk-able for many is the Museum Campus and the shopping along the Magnificent Mile but if you prefer, bus and “L” stations are within a couple of blocks. The hotel is very clean with generous sized rooms for a downtown hotel; in fact, a nice plus was a room with two queen beds rather than the much more common twins for our family of four. The staff was wonderful and many went out of their way to help make our stay and visit to Chicago special. A very good breakfast was included and while valet parking is available, I would recommend parking in the underground public parking deck with access a couple blocks away on Michigan Ave near Millennium Park as it is low cost for Chicago and with this hotel’s close proximity to everything, you will not need it saving one a lot of money on expensive Chicago parking rates. When we return to Chicago, this will be the hotel we stay at.

This Hampton is a notch up from the standard roadside Hampton. The hotel, which is in an old downtown building, has been nicely renovated. Because it is an old narrow building the breakfast area is really too small to accommodate everyone at a time when the hotel is quite full. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful especially Janessa who went out of her way to provide service and aid in making reservations.
