“Sunday Brunch”
Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

Really fast (90 min) but worth the 40 bucks.
Enough variety and quantity of food if you are clever enough to pile up before the show actually starts.
Singers are OK and will create a nice atmosphere.

“Gospel Brunch”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

If you love good music and good choirs then get on over to the Gospel Brunch. Lots of good food before the singing starts. The intimate venue assures that you will have a good seat and the singing is so good it makes you want to go to church! There are several choirs that change out so you will see several acts - they range from very good to amazing. If you are not a church person, or your church does not have a rocking choir you really should to see this special type of music.

“Small space”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

The bar area has a grimy underground feel to it with a small stage. It definitely gets very loud when ther is a band playing. The theatre area has two bars and is not that big. I went to the "Extreme Midget Wrestling" event (don't judge) and it was standing room only. It actually felt very unsafe. There were so many people crammed into such a small space that I couldn't help but think about how this has to be against a fire code of some sort.

“The facade gives you a wrong idea.”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We expected more because the facade is very inviting but the place was almost empty, the food not so good, the service and the drinks average. Maybe there are better places in Chicago for listening live music. The guitar man was good.

“Chicago all in one location”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

As your advisor, I advise you to search around and get a good price for a stay at the Hotel Sax (yes, you can find a room for under $120 a night if you book far enough in advance), then stroll across the parking lot for good times at the House of Blues. Arrive before 9 p.m. to avoid the $10 cover. But, if the show is anything like the one we saw with Tommy McCracken, you'll be willing to pay five times that much and it'll be well worth it Great music, good atmosphere, good food, great times.
