Description: (OH-STEH-REE-YAH) A casual Italian tavern where people gather to enjoy antipasti with wine, a plate of pasta or an Italian feast, all served with the warmth and hospitality of family. Osteria Via Stato, a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant follows this definition and the Italian tradition of seasonally prepared dishes featuring local ingredients and artisanal producers paired with an all Italian wine list. Osteria Via Stato opens daily at five. Pizzeria Via Stato located adjacent to Osteria Via Stato is a cozy, Roman-style pizzeria that continues to highlight Executive Chef Digregorio’s passion for market-fresh ingredients. The tavern pizzas have crispy, thin crust with both artisanal and classic toppings. The tavern also features 300 Italian wines, local bottles and draft beers as well as an extensive selection of small plates. Pizzeria Via Stato offers both lunch and dinner

Wonderful wine list. Prefix menu was a fun way to taste the range and depth of food. Excellent option for those who enjoy a slower meal

“Excellent Italian dinner”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Once you get past the hostess, the place is great. I tried to make reservations, but was told they were "full". When we just showed up, we got a table in 5 minutes........not sure what the issue was, there were plenty of tables open when we showed up at the time we tried to make a reservation for --

Our server was Rick, and he was very attentive. We only ordered one appetizer for the three of us and that was plenty. We got the fonduta -- very yummy. Homemade warm bread, very yummy. We were nearly full by the time our entrees appeared. I ordered the gnocci, and I am a gnocci critic. But these were so light, so fluffy, clearly handmade fresh. It was not a huge serving, but because of the appetizer and the bread, I was stuffed. My friends got arrabiata and parmesan chicken and everyone cleaned their plates.....no room for dessert.

This is a delicious spot to visit, with fast service and decent pricing. They deliver for room service to the Embassy Suites and all the food I ordered were things I would order again .

“Extraordinary Italian experience”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Dining here was more than a meal, it was an extraordinary experience. The atmosphere in the dining, not the pizza section, was perfect, with subdued lighting and a wonderful quiet that made it easy to have a conversation. It started with the best Italian bread outside of Italy that I have ever had, with oil & garlic cloves marinated in balsamic vinegar. The antipasti were each a unique journey of flavors with fondata with spinach & a marvelous cheese, crispy artichokes with lemon and delicious veal meatballs, all with sauces that begged to sopped up with the bread. The wine list is outstanding and reasonable, helped by a knowledgeable staff. Our table of six basically stopped talking on the next dishes until after a few bites when everyone was saying, "You've got to try this!" The desserts were also crazy good. With a group of well-traveled people, almost all were saying this was one of their top meals ever. I put in the top ten easily, maybe top five. Delicioso!!!
