This show is 30 Plays in 60 Minutes; they all are Improv. It is said to be the the longest running show in Chicago and the only open-run Off-Off-Broadway show in New York. Starting in 1988, the show has run 50 weekends of the year since then. It was very interesting to say the least.... I should have looked closer to what it was all about before scheduling our group of 6 ladies as it was a bit over the top for most. You need to understand Improv's as well as like the strange. Some of skits were funny, some were sad, some serious, some lovely, and some, most of us "just did not get". But it's important to tell you all about the theater, very old, not fancy in anyway, upstairs, just an experience!!!! We were in Chicago for the Experience's, we got it here.

Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind is hilarious, fast moving, at times poignant, put on by very talented actors and writers doing 30 skits in 60 minutes. Line up starts at 1030 pm, show starts at 1130pm, and was sold out the Saturday night we went. Entrance fee is by the role of dice, max ticket is $15.

This theater is not a tradition theatre or production by any means. But is a great time, when you arrive the tickets are $9 plus an additional few dollars based on the roll of a die. The most you'd pay for a tickey would be $15, or if you buy in advance you might get money back (based on the roll of a die).

Their signature show is "Too much light makes the baby go blind". There are 30 short plays performed within 60 minutes and the show in constantly changing. If you are a person who gets easily embarrassed I would not reccommend this theatre. However if you're in for a good time and can roll with the punches, I would highly suggest going to see their show! I had a great time and would definitely go back, and it's located in the Andersonville neighborhood so there are plenty of places to grab a drink or dinner before or after the show!

Saw the election-year production, "44 Plays for 44 Presidents" -- which rolls through the whole roster of presidents with their stories and "DIRECT QUOTES" which are pointed out in flashing lights. A funky venue upstairs in an old apartment building. The cast and musicians are long-standing Chicago favorites. Affordable tickets for $15. We've also seen the NY troupe near NYU, across the street from La Mama. Would recommend both of them if you like fast and subversive humor.

30 plays in 60 minutes that change every week. The audience picks a number and then they do that "play" it can by 20 seconds or several minutes. It is a great late night adventure in Chicago Theater
