“Great service”
Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

Had a quick guiness on our way to the hockey game. The owners nephew served. Great guy and very friendly. Definitely worth the stop.

“The Guinness is always good and there is live music on Fridays”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

I have been several times, the atmosphere was always good, and as other reviewers have said - the Guinness on draft is excellent and keeps its head for a long time. There are several other beers on tap also if Guinness isn't your style. If you want great live music, go on Friday night. The food options are slim, only pizza, but all toppings are good and they are cooked to order.

“Friendliest bartenders ever!”
Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

We were in Chicago for the weekend and we popped in for Guiness and ended up closing the place! LOVED all of the bartenders... they even let us move the tables aside to dance! John boomed out an Irish tune to boot... this is a must visit place forever...thanks so much... till next time!

“Nice Irish, neighborhood vibe pub, in a trendy glitzy area”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We have passed this bar many times and it wasn’t till New Year’s Eve when we were looking to stop somewhere for a beer or two before heading home that we actually stopped. What a pleasant surprise. A roaring fireplace greeted us. A nice space not huge not small, laughing patrons who all seemed to know each other gave giving it a great friendly vibe. We were greeted by the bartender and offered a sample of a draft beer we had never had but he thought we would like. It was great. They only serve frozen pizza heated right there on the back of the bar. I would recommend it if you are in the neighborhood. If you are a tourist it is a peek into the heart of Chicago of old where workers would stop on their way home to have a few. This neighborhood is filled with chains and new “artsy fartsy” (my husband’s description) places. Twenty five, or so, years ago this neighborhood was skid row. It is amazing to see the transformation in the area.

“Perfect Irish Pub!”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

My friends and I had a great time at this thoroughly Irish bar. The owner/bartender John, is a true Irish gentleman: welcoming, friendly, and he pours a gorgeous pint of Guinness. We went on a quiet Sunday night and really enjoyed visiting with John and the other patrons (one guy was from Australia). If you're in downtown Chicago, you HAVE to stop and have a Guinness.
