Mass in Holy Name Cathedral is a beautiful experience any day of the week. Wonderful priests, terrific homilies and so much to take in! It is a must for Catholics!

We stopped in during our weekend visit to Chicago. Very nice church with beautiful architecture. Would have loved to attend mass, maybe next time.

Visited one weekday morning and I was one of three people in the huge space - one of those was a security guard. Returned for Mass on Sunday morning and was blown away by the organ and choir! Such a beautiful building inside with interesting history. Look for the red bishop hats hung over the back of the altar - they are left until they disintegrate and return to dust, a tradition I had never seen before. We were told by a docent at the Chicago Architecture Foundation that the stairway outside was replaced because there were blood stains on the old steps from Al Capone-era shootings, but we have yet to independently confirm that...

I went to Sunday service here (took public transportation to get there) and was rewarded with a delightful visit. There are beautiful stain glass windows and vaulted ceilings. Stop in for a quick visit or stay for services.

I enjoy looking at cathedrals. I really like it when you can go inside. There were people going in to look and some to pray. It was a pretty church.
