We have been to mass at Holy Name many times. While not on the level of the great European Cathedrals, Holy Name reflects Chicago - inspiring, architecturally interesting, and very much a "working mans" house of God. Chicago is not a pretentious city, just one that works, and that's Holy Name. In many ways you are more inspired here with its lack of overwhelming ostentatiousness. It's scale impresses, but doesn't dwarf your humanity. An easy 10 minute walk from North Michigan Ave., the Watertower, and Hancock Building, Holy Name is a good stop for Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
