Take the red line and get off at Chicago. Its located just around the train station at Wabash ave. The Cathedral is open to the public and it held masses almost everyday. Don't expect to get the same vibe than european cathedrals but is simple beautiful.

Chicago has many beautiful catholic churches. Although this is "the Cathedral" and it should be nice - it is exceptional. I have been to Notre Dame in Paris and I have seen many beautiful churches throughout the world. Holy Name may not be a world-renowened name but it does not discount the fact that this is a beautiful church and worth seeing.
Plus it's free!

So beautiful, so sophisticated, so classic. Abraham Lincoln was there and I was there! Thats a blessing already!
