We took the Architectual Cruise and it was amazing. The tour guy, Dave, was extremely knowledgable about both the history and architecture of Chicago. The cruise was one hour, and it went by quickly. We cruised several different branches of the Chicago River, and Dave told us the history and architectural details of the buildings we passed. A great introduction to Chicago, for the rest of our stay we found ourselves looking up and recognizing the buildings we had heard about. A definite must-do while you are in Chicago!

We took a Water Taxi from the Museum area to the Navy Pier. Well worth the $8 for the one way trip. We did a lot of walking that day and enjoyed the break.

We took the boat taxi from union station to Navy pier and back during the Chicago air and water show. The staff were smart, friendly and efficient. Being on this boat I felt completely at ease and safe. It stops at Michigan avenue and then drops off at Navy Pier. It runs all afternoon and it's last tour is 15 minutes after sunset. It is a great way to get to Navy Pier with out the normal taxi cab ride in the downtown traffic. Definitely worth the extra cost.

Our tour guide Sarah was awesome. Funny and full of cool stories about the skyscrapers. It's a must-do tour. Ask about the family discount... We got 10% off.

At the start of our Route 66 drive we stayed in Chicago for three days and this was a great way to spend part of Saint Patrick's day. The tour starts from Navy Pier and takes you through the city's river. (Being Irish the locals loved us!) The tour guide was very very well informed and knowledgeable and also entertaining. The commentary was very easy to understand and told us so many interesting facts your head spins! He also does a mean party piece at the end of the tour. There was a bar in bottom of the boat but this may just be a holiday thing. If you want some advice, bring a hip flask of something strong if not going in the summer months and wrap up warm!
