We were staying at a hotel near the airport, in a culture-less zone of Rosemont. On a recommendation we drove over to Cafe Touche were we discovered a real Chicago neighborhood within short distance (Edison Park), and a restaurant with a range of options from $8 hamburgers to $24 duck with orange sauce and cherries, to $30 steaks. Also has nice outdoor seating across from the park. Food is excellent - maybe one notch down from what you can get further downtown, but still quite good, and decently priced. Perfect for what we were looking for.
