After having one of the worse chinese lunches ever we ventured into this bakery to try and make up for lunch and boy were we glad we did!! Service was friendly and counter was just brimming with delictable creations! We purchased almond cookies, assorted filled breads and other sweet treats and everything was superb! They have a little section for seating in the back and it was filled with locals sitting and laughing and employees packaging baked goods obviously to be sent for commercial purchasing. A wonderful place!!

I had a few things here, and all were good. Obviously this is a Chinese bakery (and as I have never been to China I am no expert on Chinese baked goods). They were very busy every time I stopped in, and as it is Chinatown, there were several anglos but the bulk of there clientelle was Asian so they must be doing something right. There were lots of yummy things that I had never tried or heard of before, and it was a lot of fun experimenting. At these prices, why not?
In the back is a spartan dining room area where you are welcome to carry your purchases and relax while you eat. There were some very friendly staffers back here who chatted with us and laughed a lot. Very fun.
I recommend the pork sesame cookie especially: salty/sweet. What sounds gross about it -but really made it so good- was the diced pork fat in the 'cookie' . Oh that was amazing. I wish I had one now. There are alot of things to choose from, including more American looking items such as very pretty sliced cakes w/ fresh fruit and what is evidently a prize-winning custard tart. I took a pic of the newspaper article about it that they had framed and hung on the wall.
There were a few items on the counter-top that looked like some sort of savory snack wrapped in bannana (and some other kind of) leaves and steamed, probably a fast-food type lunch staple for the locals. I didn't even see a name or price on them so they are for those in the know.
This place is definitely worth checking out if you're hanging in Chinatown for the day.
