Went to Nicos several times as we were staying at the Thomson hotel. The bar area is great. Most times we went for drinks. The appetizers and deserts were excellent. Never sat down for a full meal but the menu looked very good.

The atmosphere and service at Nico Osteria were both very good. Our waitress was very attentive and went through the entire menu with us. We ordered some of our food based on her suggestions and we were happy with our choices. The food runner and the other staff were very attentive as well, our water was refilled utensils were replaced very quickly every time.
I enjoyed my meal at Nico, which included an appetizer of oysters, bruschetta with garlic fries, a clam pasta, and an apricot sorbet. Although the food wasn't too innovative, I would visit again based on the quality of food I received.

This was the BEST meal we ate in Chicago!!! The month prior reservation was worth the wait. The fun ambiance of the "happening place" just added to the meal. All plates were meant to share so if you don't like doing that - it's not really for you. We had sushi to start, the calamari bruschetta (omg!), mussels and then the citrus pesto penne, and the pork pasta. The service was very good - nothing was ever sitting too long on the table and everything was refilled immediately. We lingered over dinner for 2.5hrs -- it was by far, the best meal we had in Chicago. DEFINITELY go here!!!

Food and service was excellent, dining al fresco in the heart of the Gold Coast. Devoured the octopus and ribeye. Excellent wine choices.

We sampled it all and it was outstanding! Appetizer, pasta, fish and dessert. Everything was perfection. The cocktail menu looked awesome but we went with wine. Our wine selection aided by our server's willingness to let us "taste" some of the wine we were considering. Our experience was made even more enjoyable by the skill of our server. She was enthusiastically knowledgable about the menu and the food preparation. She helped us make great selections by educating us about the menu with absolutely no pretentiousness. All in all great experience on every level.
