“Amazing, like always”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

We love to stop here whenever we are in town. Since it was over the weekend we had a slightly longer wait then in the past, but the food is worth it. We get the salad and pizza pot pies, next time we will have to try the flat bread and a sandwich too. They always look so good. Great service. Amazing food. I love that you can purchase the salad dressing to bring home. Thanks for another great dinner.

FYI: cash only.

“The salads are out of this world!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

I first ate at Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder back in 1979, and my family and I have been going back ever since. My family's favorite is the 'small' Italian Festa Salad (Lettuce, smoked ham, Italian cappocola, provolone and Swiss cheeses, Italian sausage, meatballs, Genoa salami, pepperoni, artichoke hearts, green peppers, anchovies, tomatoes, olives, whole pepperoncini, sliced fresh mushrooms, whole pickled mushrooms, cucumbers, pickled red pimento peppers, chopped green onions...covered with freshly grated Romano cheese) which can easily serve as a meal for a party of four. Also, the Mediterranean Bread is one of a kind and goes very well with a salad. While many patrons may go for the oven grinders or the pizza pot pie, we actually order the salad and bread almost every time we visit.

Two caveats: This is a 'cash only' establishment, and parking is often a tricky thing to find.

“Not your run-of-the-mill pizza place YUM!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

I've been to CP & OG many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, but that just makes the anticipation even greater! Parking can also sometimes be a challenge, but again def worth it.

Small, quaint and cozy PLUS very delicious food. Our favorites are the HUGE Great American salad, Mediterranean bread and of course, the very tasty unique pizza pot pie! It's a lot of food but that's fine by us, as the leftovers are always a welcome treat back home.

“Overly delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

If you want a hum drum pizza experience or just a salad, don't eat here! They have an amazing concept and the long lines prove it. Delicious and then some. Loved meeting the awesome bartender and the beer selection was terrific.
Thank you for causing me to be sad that I don't live much, much closer to your awesome restaurant.

“Worth the wait!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

The moment you get there be sure to ask to be put in line for a table. They do not take your name down, if not they somehow remember you. The wait can be 1.5hr, but the food is worth it. Make sure to get their pizzas as it is their specialty. Their Mediterranean bread appetizer was also really good.
