“Now This is Italian!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Fabulous Friday night affair. The greeter at the door remembers your face when you ask for a table and have to wait. The place is crazy busy - even though they only take cash. The salad for $7 was humongous and the dressing was superb. Very friendly people - the owners - and wait staff are good. Go there - you'll love it.

“Pizza Pot Pies my new favorite thing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

This small eatery features a unique upside down pizza. If you don't get there early you can expect to wait but it is worth it. Their Pizza Pot Pie is an upside down pizza made with regular or wheat dough. The sauce is cooked for over 9 hours and the aromas when you step into the restaurant get your stomach growling. I tried the meat Pizza Pot Pie and it was delicious. I ordered the 1/2 lb which was just right for one. Our waiter Ken was friend and so hospitable - made us feel like old friends. I can't wait to go back.

“Historic Stop; Bring Cash”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

The Oven Grinder serves a pot pie like pizza. The food here is amazing and the atmosphere is great! Read the history of this location during the Valentine massacre and also the fire of 1971. This place is a little pricey, but well worth it! They only accept cash so be prepared!

“Great place all around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

This is a busy restaurant but with such great service you barely notice it. Med bread, salad, and pizza pot pie were all very good. Will definitely return when we get back to Chicago.

“Great experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

This is the 2nd time that I have been to this restaurant and I have to say it is one of my favorite places. They have a great salad the small will feed 2 to 3 people, they are pretty good. Their style pizza is like a bread bowl with toppings and cheese on top and they're sauce is really good. They are also in ahistorical neighborhood right in front of we're the famous valentines massacre happened during prohibition .
