Description: Located on a corner in the heart of Lincoln Park, Four Farthings Tavern and Grill has welcomed patrons to fill pints and plates for half a century. Though the tavern was originally a quaint space with a ceiling only reaching nine feet, it has grown through the decades. Today, it is an up scale resturant where customers can uncover something different every day-a sidewalk brunch on Sundays, Trivia on Wednesdays and karaoke on Thursdays and Saturdays, and live music on Friday. The bar keeps their signature wings on special and televisions abuzz with sports on the weekends- catching all the action of College Sports (BIG 10 Conference & Michigan Booster Bar) & NFL football on the weekends. Plasters of photos of old Chicago across walls paneled in centuries-old wood (which was imported from Wisconsin's Kimberly Clark mansion and milled onsite for a custom fit). The Grill Room was added in 1983 and features fresh steaks and seafood along with pastas and daily specials. The bar side offers lighter fare and outdoor seating at our beautiful patio! The bar and party room are popular spots to view sporting events or meet friends to relax. We are excited to continue the proud history of Four Farthings and put our own touches on an old favorite!

“Great casual eatery”
Reviewed July 28, 2012 via mobile

Food was really good. Service could be a little better. They were slow to come by and take drink orders. Inside atmosphere was great. Bands on Fridays. Nice little outside eating area.

“Nice Sports Bar and Restaurant with Old Time Ambiance”
Reviewed March 31, 2012

All are welcome at this really nice restaurant and bar combination. You enter through the bar area that has many tv screens ala sports bar and continuebto the restaurant. You can eat in the bar which we prefer due to the atmosphere. Food is a definite step above bar food and service fast and friendly. Many beers on tap include Peroni and New Castle Brown. Great wings, but main courses range from Corvina to burgers and a salmon and steak. Deserts are homemade and we had a nice apple pie. Very mixed ages here and mostly folks from the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Nice sidewalk cafe In summer.

“Lincoln Park Retreat”
Reviewed December 27, 2008

The Four Farthings Tavern & Grill is an excellent spot with a warm environment and moderate priced fare. This place has been on my personal favorite list for over 20 years now. They have an excellent pot roast, steak or fish dish. Great breads and a good wine list that will not break the tab. I rate it above average for a warm atmoshere and a pleasant experience every time. Expect hearty fare in the winter or summer. Better places exist for sure, Chicago has a thousands of restaurants; this place is an easy in and out/without traffic hassles and there may be no waiting issues most evenings. Great on a week night too.
