“Delightful Surprise”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

It was a little hard to find, being in a non-restaurant area in a kind of commercial zone. But I was glad we persisted in searching. The place does feel very French, and it was warm enough to sit in the charming rear garden -- quite incongruous on a street like this part of Clark. The service and food were both delightful. The crepe menu is imaginative and diverse.

Conveniently for us, it was a fairly short walk to our destination Blues clubs on Halsted. If you've got a reason to be in the neighborhood, I'd definitely recommend this.

“Best Crepes in town!”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

The service is always good. The establishment is a little hidden and small, but it really makes you feel like you're dining at a real French restaurant. The decor is great, the drinks are too, but the food is even better!

“The Real Deal for 40 Years”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

The first time I ate at La Creperie was in 1980, I had a couple of friends who were waitstaff there and introduced me to it. Over time the place has expanded, but has remained true to its Breton roots. The crepes are well-prepared and authentic, made with buckwheat flour. The savories are filling and diverse. I love the creamed spinach and the cheese can be done with extras like mushrooms or tomatoes. The menu is great for vegetarians.
Save room for a sweet crepe--the waitress suggested salt caramel and peanut butter on our last visit and it was memorable. I've had the flan crepe before and the Nutella and banana. They have excellent Bloodies, beer in bottles and decent champagne by the glass.
Worth getting our of downtown to visit!

“The patio is a gem!”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

If the weather is nice, walk thru the dark dining area to the patio. An oasis with mature trees, a fountain and relaxing music. A perfect place to have crepes and end a perfect day.

“Afraid to share my secret!”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

La Creperie is my all-time favorite restaurant in Chicago. The atmosphere is out of this world. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The wine selections are great, and greatly priced (also has Three Floyd's beers available, which is amazing!). The crepe options are to die for. In the summer there is the most amazing outdoor seating area that makes you feel like you are in your own backyard. They could charge double for the food (but please don't! =). Can't recommend this place enough.
