JMJ Visited the Russian Tea Time restaurant after a lovely visit to the Art Institute because it's only 1/2 block away. Had visited it before but now had more family members to enjoy it with. The staff was excellent about the size of our party and the fact we had children with us. Even though it was expensive, we felt the children and guests should experience the cuisine and ambiance of The Russian Tea Time. We tried to order different things and we shared with each other; the staff brought extra plates for the children to share. The tea kept flowing with refills and the water glasses were constantly kept filled. The borst was delicious and all the meat dishes were excellent. Save up and treat yourself to excellent food and excellent service.

We were looking for a unique experience on our visit, and Russian tea Time delivered! Our goal was to do something we can't do back home. Authentic vodkas and servers from the Ukraine were delightful! We did the jewel flight, and though I am not a big fan of the flavored vodkas, I enjoyed the experience and the directions. I ate the beef stroganoff, and husband had beef stew. Both dishes were excellent, but mine was the better of the two. I highly recommend!

My friends chose this restaurant for a surprise party for colleagues. The staff here made it easy to have fun and chat with friends, while keeping everything moving through the dining experience.
The food was wonderful and the choices diverse enough for a large crowd. They even did their best to help with several dietary needs of some of the guests.
Great food and great service with a down to earth atmosphere.

Careful intuitive service. Excellent Russian tea. Large choice of vodkas and full bar. Wonderful barley soup. Gourmet sauteed eggplant and zucchini. Awesome meat dumplings with sour cream and dill sauce on the side. Their wonderful pumpernickel bread is now available again.

We try to go to The Russian Tea Time a couple of times a year. It is a must after the Chicago symphony Yule performance. Great food in a cozy setting. We love the flights of Vodka and the beef stroganoff. We are going back next weekend. I can't wait!
