Moody's had been one our favorite burger joints over the years but we have neglected it for too long - we're back with a vengeance. Their outdoor garden (sitting beneath a forest of trees in the city) is idyllic, new seating and tables very comfortable, and fence walls even painted. The aroma of cooking burgers and onion rings as you walk through the bar/kitchen/indoor eating area puts you in the mood for the tasty experience you begin craving. The Moody burger with blue cheese (lots of it) is my favorite, and their onion rings are the old standard - great crunchy breading on the outside and sweet onion on the inside - perfectly cooked in my opinion. Very fair wine/beer/sangria prices (how about a house red or white for $3.85 or enjoy the pitcher of red sangria). Service has become excellent with attentive busboy service. Go for it and support this family owned business.

Went on a recommendation for the burgers. They were cooked to perfection, juicy, but not much flavor. Still, we had a nice experience.

Our group of four got a perfect booth near one of the two fireplaces, so that was great for a cold winter night in Chicago. It was early on a Saturday night (7 pm.) so wasn't crowded. I liked the convenience of the restaurant's own parking lot. A little pricey for a hamburger and fries but the pitcher of sangria was a good deal ($11). We had a good time. Nice atmosphere, good burgers. Mixed reviews from my group on the fries, but I liked them. Moody's has a casual, dark, European vibe.

Frequent stop for a Moody burger and onion rings. Wood burning fireplaces make this a great winter spot.
