Six friends gathered. Two were locals and knew. Four were visitors and hadn't a clue. Two Stuffed Pizza Pies were ordered: One Chicago Classic and one Special.

Most of us had eaten "Chicago Style" pizza before but never before have we enjoyed so delicious a pie. It is one thing to have a mostly-crust, slightly filled pizza with so-so flavor. It is altogether another thing of culinary magnificence to savor a thin-bottomed, stuffed-full, flavor-filled gastronomic delight from Giordano's!

Our local friends suggested the Hyde Park location was among the best and we cannot disagree. The pizza was fantastic and although we took some home it didn't last long! As a starter we enjoyed the House Salad, which was fresh and flavorful.

The decor' was bright and fun. The service was prompt and friendly. And much to the surprise of we out-of-town visitors, although Giordano's doesn't serve chilled adult beverages, the restaurant is BYOB and there is a nearby liquor store for those who so want a cold one with their pie. Home run!

Giordano's served some of the very best stuffed, "Chicago Style" pizza any of us had ever tasted. We will return again and again...

When you get to find out Giordano's has many, many locations, in the area, you would think something is lost in the translation and quality suffers. However, that is not the case; service is very good (a little slow, but that is partly due to customer size, partly due to way pizza is made and cooked) and the food is great. Deep dish pizza is not generally my favorite, but this is definitely worth trying, even once. Great experience!

We ordered the sampler appetizer plate; a large deep dish with pepperoni, onion, and mushrooms; and a kid size thin crust pepperoni pizza (for our one who doesn't like deep dish). All were delicious! Our waitress and the young lady who kept our water glasses full and our dirty dishes cleared were both very friendly and attentive. Parking at the meter around the corner was just $4.

We took the family here after a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. We parked on the street a block north of the restaurant. We arrived on a Friday around 6pm and were seated with no wait at all. There were a few other groups but otherwise was pretty quiet.

The server was great and was very attentive during our meal. The pizza took 40 minutes as advertised and was delicious. They probably have the best pizza in Chicago. I would definitely go back.

Finally a place that serves up a real pizza pie to die for. Seriously, you best go there starving for you will be served up a generous pizza. Juicy, bursting with flavor, hot and very satisfying. I have traveled the planet and enjoyed a lot of great pizzas, but nothing like this. Good stuff.
