Description: Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.

“A bistro worth visiting”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Mon Ami Gabi is a beautiful spot both indoors and outside, when the weather permits. Excellent cocktails and a good wine selection. The food is generally very good and the service is excellent. If you have not been there, you should give it a try. It is one of my go to restaurants.

“Taste of France”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Always very good. The bar is tiny so head to the outside tables in nice weather. Across the street are the beautiful gardens of Lincoln Park. Great selection of wines by the class and menu of French classics make it hard to beat.

“True French Cuisine”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

If you like great french cuisine and are willing to drop a few bucks this is for you. If you didn't know better you'd think Julie Child herself was in the kitchen.

“Thoroughly enjoyable, excellent food and service”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Seated promptly with a reservation, attentive, discrete service. Food was all that was promised with excellent wine by the glass pairing. Atmosphere and attitude of staff allowed us to relax, splurge a bit, and have a nice experience. Added up to be a bit pricey with multiple courses and dessert wine but with it.
Will return in the future.

“A real disappointment”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

This is one of those times that you kick yourself and say, "why did you go to a chain, you know better?" A wonderful gem before becoming a chain, but now it's a miss. The service was poor, the food was not up to par (duck confit without crispy skin!), and while the atmosphere is lovely it's not worth it. There are much, much better French Bistrot fair to be had in Chicago.
