Folks are friendly, service is good, but on a Saturday night this place is really loud and makes conversation very difficult. We started with appetizers, one half greek salad and the mussel special. Both were very good and the idea of being able to have one half of all the salads offered is wonderful. For main course, we had Tilapia on risotto, OK but a huge portion of risotto, and spinach with squash ravioli in garlic and oil. The spinach was extremely oversalted by the ravioli qute good.
Price was very reasonable, $89 without tip but included one glass of nice Sauvingnon Blanc and single malt scotch.
Overall, we will go back but not on a weekend.

We went to Basil Leaf with friends and loved it! Food is delicious and very fresh, service friendly, and prices very reasonable. I took a big salad and it was only 8 dollars. They don't have a kids' menu per se but can make kids' portions on entrees, which is actually better because it's better food than chicken nuggets and stuff. Fries were delicious. Portions are big, do you can expect to take home some. They have paper on top of tablecloth, so kids got really busy drawing on it. Would rate it 4.5 if it was possible. Definitely worth it!

Plentiful food and good value. Nice ambiance. Service a bit OTT, constantly checking on your every need although over-trained but pleasant, chatty staff with real smiles.

Our family lives in the "burbs" but enjoys dinning in the city frequently. We walked to this quaint neighborhood restaurant after spending most of the day at the Lincoln Park Zoo. It's a nice walk. We loved the atmosphere, service and food for a late lunch. Nice well rounded Italian menu, attentive, friendly staff, charming atmosphere <with outside seating> and delicious meal with amazing bread and a garlic olive oil accompaniment. Definitely worth the trip!

Great Caesar salad with flank steak. My friend had the chicken Feta sandwich which was huge and great value at $8.95. Couple glasses of wine at $7. Great value, quiet, white table clothes... Perfect or Sunday afternoon. Other places in area Sunday can be filled with loud music and loud yuppies(nothing against yuppies BTW).
