Description: Named one of Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Chefs 2008,” Executive Chef Giuseppe Tentori features contemporary, seasonal American food. The Michelin Dining Guide recently awarded BOKA one star and the Chicago Tribune gave three, calling it “One of the city’s best.” Chicago magazine awarded three stars as well and has called it “The hottest ticket in town.” Chef Tentori was named a rising star by both Star Chefs and Restaurant Hospitality magazine, and BOKA was awarded the 4 Diamond AAA in 2009. A great spot for wedding receptions, corporate meetings, pharmaceutical dinners and cocktail parties, the space allows for private parties in a variety of rooms both private and semi private. The restaurant was designed by Bogdanow Partners and features sweeping architectural sails and a stunning 90 seat outdoor patio.

Very professional service. Knowledgeable, smart, not over-whelming or in your face. Probably the most hospitable place ever. The food was great too. Presentation was sometimes iffy. Perhaps a bit under seasoned at times. I don't fully understand why restaurants refuse to use salt and pepper. Good use of ingredients, very approachable. I disliked the the coarse plate, which made a scratchy noise as my fork scooped my food. Somewhat unpleasant.

Minus: Seated in the awning covered annex. First course scallops were still gritty and carried a fish smell with them to the table. Wine list was very pricey. As was the beer list - topping out at $22/ bottle.
Plus: dinner salad and fish main's were OK.
Summary: in spite of one Michelin star and numerous Wine Spectator awards, I would not recommend.

Ate here on a Saturday night and was surprised at how empty the resturant was. We did the tasting menu and were served 6 courses. The last 3 which were the heavier meat dishes were very good how ever the early dishes while technically good were lacking a dimension. Dinner with 2 bottles of wine was approx $200 a head with the tasting menu very reasonably priced at $85 ea. I left the wine selection up to the waiter and was very pleased to see he did not pick expensive wines at all but stayed well under my max. I would go back but would order a la carte next time

A special evening to celebrate a birthday was almost marred by the server's poor attitude and mishandling of an advance and prepaid request for a special dessert.
Interesting cocktails, but the "mixologist" was difficult to engage and questions about drinks were answered in monosyllables. There were only 4 customers at the bar at the time, so we were not taking him away from a busy lineup.
The appetizers are, as advertised by the server, inventive but spare. Entrees were appropriately sized and deliciously executed. A question about an entree that did not appear to match the menu description was dismissed in a rude manner by the same server. To avoid further discomfort to members of our party, we did not press the issue but looked up our question on a smartphone and solved the problem.
