Description: The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, R.J. Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, décor, music, and menu. Happily for all of us, the best eating of that day continues to be some of the best today. While there's a huge menu that's as much fun to eat your way through as it is to read, many of Grunts' old American favorites spark return visits. The burgers are arguably the best in town. The salad bar boasts more than 50 ingredients daily. Giant malts and milkshakes are hand scooped and come in a rainbow of colors and flavors. And, the Craft beer selection makes it easy to choose the perfect tasty beverage.

2 couples, 2 babys, 1 Sunday after Brunch and a couple of Burgers, Wraps and Salad later. Now thinking back, Chicago means RJ. Great food, great atmosphere, great value for money and super friendly staff with great surprise at the end. Thank you RJ, we will be back.

We stop at Grunts all the time- it is so good. Great atmosphere- it's an older restaurant and the walls are filled with pictures of all the past girls that have worked there. We love the cheese fries and have never had a bad meal. Good for all occasions. It is across from Lincoln Park Zoo- so it's great to stop in after visiting the zoo!

R.J. Grunts is still a great restaurant with a very casual atmosphere. We visited the restaurant on 9/8/12. Located in the Lincoln Park area, parking may be a bit difficult, but valet parking on a Saturday night was only $9. The food is plentiful. We had the BBQ ribs and turkey burger, along with the soup and salad bar. They provide you with a slab of ribs which was very tender and the sauce was excellent. The turkey burger was fabulous with tomato, lettuce, pickle and thousand island dressing. Great meal and the service was very good. Also, they played 70's music too!

The food is above average but the atmosphere is the main attraction. Of course if you say you remember the '60s you probably weren't there. It's a time capsule with food.

Part of the Lettuce Entertain You group of restaurants, needed a place for Sunday brunch for 12 people. Chose Grunts because they took reservations. The salad bar is quite large and the fruits and veggies were fresh. Breakfast items on the buffet were good, although the selection was small. Even at 10:30 AM one can choose anything from the regular menu or the buffet. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
