Tio Luis is on the southwest side of Chicago, usually a desert in terms of good restaurants. We saw Tio Luis on several local shows and it was written up in many magazines for foodies in Chicago so we decided to try. It only takes 20 minutes from downtown to get there, and the experience is wonderful from start to finish. The servers and hostesses are attentive and very kind and the food is authentic, fresh, and delicious. Everything made from scratch, bursting with flavor. A huge lunch for two was only $21...an extraordinary deal considering all the fresh products and savory tastes. The decor is cute as well. The enchiladas were really outstanding and even the free salsa and chips are notable...you want to eat up every bit of it. Different salsas available with corn, onion, cilantro, etc. Vast selection of meats, sauces, ceviche, everything. This restaurant deserves all the media attention it has gotten and everyone should go try it, Chicagoans, locals, tourists, everyone.
