My wife and I went on a Friday night and sat outside upstairs. Service was snappy and polite...this and a setting which reminds you of old Saigon...along with a diverse and tasty menu, well, we'll be back. Would like to try downstairs on a cold evening with good friends and great wine; go anytime.

...and Le Colonial was delightful in every way! Dinner on a Tuesday evening. Elegant, busy atmosphere; excellent food; good, friendly service! My daughter and I shared the Bo Bia soft salad rolls with peanut plum dipping sauce; tasted each other's Tom Xao Sate (shrimp and asparagus in spicy sauce) and Bo Sate (diced filet mignon with sate spice, yams and green beans.) All in all, a wonderful evening!

We entertained out of town guests and this venue was superb - sat on the second floor balcony - open air, overlooking Rush Street - fabulous evening! Delicious French Vietnamese dishes - enjoyed the Bouillabaisse - fresh basil, glass noodles, seafood - number 40 - all prepared so fresh - DELICIOUS. Fantastic service! Always a "go to" for us! Everyone was delighted with their choices - fish wrapped in banana leave - superb! Fun!

It is very crowded but that illustrates its cuisine which is good, plenty of flavor and not to far away from real Vietnamese cuisine. We liked the salad shrimp rolls, the shrimp and chicken entrees. Service was friendly and prompt. Ideal restaurant if you want to change from all the steaks, pizza and hot dogs, which aren't bad either
