We live within walking distance of Bistrot Zinc and so have enjoyed it several times. It is one of the better restaurants in a neighborhood with lots of good choices for places to eat. We love Paris and so it is a delight to have a bistrot near at hand.

Last night our friends had the wolf fish special which looked lovely and they enjoyed it. I had a vou au vent with a lamb stew which was expertly executed with crisp tasty shell and mashed potatoes. My husband enjoyed the beef shortribs. Desserts were particularly yummy -- pot au creme and an almond cake with fresh fruit -- both with excellent chantilly. The wine list while not extensive is very good. We enjoyed a very nice bottle of sancerre which is one of our favorites and not always available in US restaurants.

The service was gracious without annoying interruptions of the conversation. On a Friday night it was a bit noisy but the waiter responded to our request for a table along the wall where conversation was easier.

The bread, I suspect is from the local French bakery. It really did taste like a good French baguette which is one of our favorite foods and hard to come by in the US. Fresh food, well prepared -- good variety of choices. This is a place we will be back to often.

We has the pleasure of enjoying a lovely lunch recently. On a cold snowy day we happened in. The atmosphere is so Parisian that it was like a mini vacation. If only the friendly employees spoke French! The French onion soup has a rich flavored broth that was so delicious. Next trip to Chicago we plan to enjoy a dinner. If you like French food at a reasonable price, this is a place to visit. Simply delightful.

Bistro atmosphere, comfortable and casual. Highly recommend the pan fried trout over sautéed spinach and ginger carrot soup. A generous portion of quiche Lorraine and green salad was just right. Well priced and attentive service. All good, rates 5 star bistro enjoyment.

This is a good bet for classic French bistro fare in the vicinity of the Rush Street Golden Triangle. The food consists of tasty and well prepared classics. The soup specials, salads and the bread are some of my favorites. The restaurant is attractive and the service, on our visits, has always been attentive. The wines served are generally (maybe exclusively) French. The by the glass selection offers a range of good offerings at reasonable prices.

Lunches are an especially good deal.

Met five other friends for dinner. The restaurant looked festive and inviting on a rather snowy night. Additionally lovely was that the restaurant did not have "rushed" seatings but took 250 reservations and no one was ever rushed to run tables. Amazing. Service was so good and attentive, the menu had the regular options and a special holiday meal option. Very delicious, the champagne perfectly chilled and served. Well, they did overfill the glasses and that does keep the wine from saying cold. But one cannot complain it was stellar evening and very uplifting, full house but never crowded, and there is a difference. No one had to bump into anyone or crawl over to get somewhere it was fun and rally special. I highly recommend this pace for any occasion or simply lunch or dinner. A wonderful local establishment.
