Consistent quality whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We love the Park Hyatt and this restaurant compliments the hotel in every way.

Having lived in downtown Chicago for a number of years, as a general rule of thumb, we try to avoid hotel restaurants. This place is the exception! We have dismissed this place for a while because of the location (ground zero for tourists) but were faced with a last minute pre-theater dining dilemma. We started with drinks on their terrace (never knew it existed) which offered nice views of the surrounding buildings but somehow managed to be absent of the normal downtown noise. Drinks were boozy, but incredibly flavorful ($15 each). We were seated for dinner in the windows facing North(NO) Michigan (MI) Avenue--great views of the park and lake--request these tables when making reservation. For starters we had the pho and the pork belly--very flavorful---we weren't expecting the Asian influence here but much appreciated. For entrees we had the pork secreto and the beef cheeks--both exceptional. The secreto had a flavor in pork that you don't find often--highly suggest getting this. We also had a side of mashed potatoes and the cold beets--also very yummy. For dessert we shared a textured chocolate dessert that was the perfect ending when paired with the final drops of wine. The wine....they have an exceptional sommelier here and he immediately picked up on what we were looking for when we provided him with the profile we wanted. The total for 2 people (2 glasses of champage, 2 starters, 2 entrees, dessert was on the house, and a bottle of wine) was about $280+tip--we paid separately for the drinks on the terrace. The service here is some of the best I've ever received in Chicago. This place had absolutely 0 pretension and nothing felt forced or fake. Also, the menu has a great variety of things that varied from very simple to complex so it would be easy to take just about any kind of eater here. If you're in downtown Chicago and you want a unique meal with great food, service, and views---go here.

My husband made a reservation at NoMi on our last night in Chicago after an extended business stay. He actually visited the restaurant in the afternoon while I was in meetings to select a table with a view of Water Tower and surrounding area. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were seated at a table with no view. The hostess apologized and said no notes were made in the reservation for a view table. We dined on a Tuesday evening so although the restaurant was quite full, it was disappointing not to see his efforts rewarded. Regardless, our waiter was very helpful in making selections and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was presented very nicely and everything was delicious. I ordered the flatiron steak per the server's recommendation, and I wasn't disappointed. Delicious! My husband's pasta was okay but not remarkable. His oyster appetizer was fresh although smaller size than anticipated. All in all a very good experience.

My wife and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at NoMi's Open Kitchen. What a great experience. Knowing it was our anniversary, they had a table ready for us right in front of the fantastic window view overlooking Michigan Ave and the old water tower. Our waiter, Jay, was so down to earth and friendly. He made us feel welcome immediately, and really helped with our meal selection. The kitchen is open and the dining area feels like its part of the kitchen, which makes for a very cozy experience. Plus the kitchen is amazing beautiful (marble, stainless steel, top of the line).

The service was perfect. One waiter to 2-3 tables only. We never had to ask for anything, drinks we refreshed, plates picked up, table wiped down. Timing of the meal from wine, to appetizer, to dinner / desert, and check was perfect.

We started with the salmon sushi roll, and wow we immediately wanted another order of sushi, but decided against it to save room. We then had great salad / bread. I had the ribeye, my wife had salmon. Both were fantastic. Instead of mashed potatoes they have more of a puree. Definitely worth ordering! The desert was the best chocolate creme brule we have had (with hot cherries). The wine was paired excellent with everything we ate (pinot noir for myself, and Riesling for my wife. The entire experience was excellent. Dress nice! Suit / coat for men, dress for women. The meal was not cheap but you are paying for one of the best dining experiences in Chicago (and best dinner views).

We also had drinks / appetizers later in the evening on the NoMi Garden Deck. Great atmosphere (love the fire pits). Great spot for more casual dinners / drinks.
