I've been going to the Original Pancake House for years and this is the one to go to. It's not a fancy place by any means. The seating is tight. You may be sitting just a few inches away from your neighbor, but that just adds to the atmosphere,

The food is well worth it. You're probably thinking that anyone can make pancakes but that's not always the case. The OPH pancakes are moist and delicious and there is a good variety of flavors.

They also have great omelets, hash browns and thick bacon.

And if you're hungry and want a real treat try the Dutch baby or apple pancakes and prepare to be amazed.

This is the place to go if you want a great breakfast where the locals go. Get there early (by 9 or so) before a waiting line forms.

I don't live in Chicago anymore but this is the place me and my family always return to.

Very good breakfast. The restaurant was busy, which is usually a good sign that the food is good. You'll get a good tasting meal for what you pay. Don't expect anything fancy though - you'd be at the wrong restaurant.

Stayed at the Thompson across the street. Outside of the OPH looks a little rundown but inside was nice, clean with friendly staff and quick service.

Spent a couple days and New years eve in Chicago. Finished our trip at the Original Pancake House. The corned beef hash & eggs & meat lover's skillet were great. You get a lot of food. The cherry crepes however, were absolutely fabulous. Cherries were so tart and the crepes were melting in your mouth. very busy place, but it was well worth the wait!

Sooo worth the wait and the line moves quickly. This was a wonderful experience from the service to the food. Great menu, and just the thing needed to get your day of walking started. Go and be happy....feel free to hear my voice in your ear as you exit," I told you so!"
