Although they have a very diverse menu, a very accommodating waiter told us all the variations of their menu they could make for one of our party. The food was very good with large portions. My risotto with shrimp was cooked perfectly.

I've been dining at Carmine's since it opened in the mid eighties. It is part of the Rosebud family of restaurants. They share the same basic menu items. The food is delicious, the portions are large, and the atmosphere is always "happening", especially on those warm summer evenings.
They have outdoor seating and it's a great place to people watch. If you are in the Rush Street area, and are in the mood for Italian food, Carmine's is THE PLACE to go.

Delicious Italian menu in a fun atmosphere. The portions are huge and can definitely be shared. Don't miss the chopped salad. We asked for it lightly dressed and it was perfect. Served on chilled plates, the garlicky dressing and variety of ingredients made for an amazing salad. We split one for 3 but could have done it for up to 6 and still been very satisfied. Particularly given the size of the other dishes. The mussels in red sauce are to die for. And, while listed as an appetizer, are more than enough for an entree. I couldn't finish them. Same with the grilled seafood appetizer. Delicious variety of fresh squid, octopus, shrimp, and other seafood in a huge portion. The pastas are equally as fresh, flavorful, and large. Desserts are supposedly excellent but we've never had room for them!

I have only 2 complaints: the noise level and lack of beers on tap. The live music adds to the ambience and is almost a necessity given its location in the "Viagra Triangle", but it also detracts from the meal due to the inability to hear conversation at our own table. The bottled beer selection was excellent so the lack of tap beers isn't a huge complaint.

The service, the food, the music, the JOINT! What more can you say. They make sure you're happy...no matter what. Go. Easy decision.
