“One of the Best Italian Spots in Chicago”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Easily a top 10 Italian restaurant in Chicago. This place has a lot of history on Taylor Street, and has an excellent reputation for the atmosphere and cusine. It is dark inside and brings you back in time a bit. The food is always on point, I just had a veal chops with vesuvio patatoes, it was excellent. The Caprise salad was very good; the olive oil the give you with grated cheese for the hot bread was also excellent. This place is worth the trip, valet for lunch is $5, dinner $10. They have their own secure off street parking lot. Reasonably priced, but obviously more expensive for steaks, chops, seafoof and such as compared to a simple pasta dish. Also, the brick chicken is awesome! Give it a try if you're in the mood for top notch Italian food...

“Better choices elsewhere”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

I have been to this restaurant a good number of times but it has been a while since I visited it. I was somewhat disappointed as it is not as good as was before. The service was very amateurish with the waiter bringing the wrong salads and confusing the main courses. The food was not bad but not brilliant. Formerly, it was much better. The place was half empty on a Friday night while before it was jammed. It is very noisy, even when half empty. There are better places to go nearby so I doubt I will return very soon.

“Little Italy - good meatball - mob feel”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Made reservations out west for Italian before marathon as everything in city always booked up. Glad we did. Is a little off the beaten path - but felt like we were in a mob hangout - was really cool. Dark, good food - goombas comming down from room upstairs. I stayed simple - spagetti and meatballs -
I was a little surprised when the food came out and the meatballs were the size of baseballs!
They were well seasoned and the sauce was good. I would go back.
Portions are huge. Can split most all the entrees if not starving.

“Nice option in the loop area”
Reviewed October 6, 2012 via mobile

Went to the Rosebud Theater restaurant with a large group on what is probably the busiest day of the year: the day before the Chicago Marathon. Service was good, the food was good, we had a quick meal and enjoyed ourselves. Overall it was a very good option.
