We were in Chicago today and decided to have an early lunch at Giordano's. We left very disappointed. 4 of us had eaten pizza on Saturday and decided to order a sandwich. The other two each ordered an individual deep dish pizza.

We were seated promptly but waited quite a while for the waiter to take our orders. Once we ordered it took 45 minutes to get our food. The pizzas were barely warm. Our sandwiches had very little meat. There was an additional charge of $1 to add cheese to the sandwich. There was more bread than meat and cheese. We had a difficult time getting our drinks refilled. All of us agreed that we would never go back to this restaurant when in Chicago. The value for what we paid was very low.

I had not had pizza in over 4months, saving the experience for "THE DEEP DISH PIZZA OF CHICAGO". After an1.5 hour wait and most of that time trying to jump at the opportunity to grab someone's seat around bar area that were being moved to the dining area, we were finally seated. My mouth was salivating, we were brought our ceasar salad that was made with boxed croutons(sad) almost immediately and our pizza came out shortly after that. For me, a self proclaimed pizza expert, a pizza has to come together collectively ;ie the sauce, the fillings, and most importantly the crust. Very disappointed with the crust, it tasted like a store bought pizza crust(cardboard), mind you the filling ingredients and the sauce tasted fresh. Overall, this is one of the most disappointing pizza I have ever had. TRY COAL FIRE PIZZA-1321 W Grand Ave [--]

We ordered a pepperoni deep dish chicago pizza - very excited! It came with 1 - yes 1 paper thin layer of pepperoni and about 4 inches of cheese - very disappointed. $16 for a small and NO Meat!!!!! Ruined experience!

There are a few deep dish pizza places that are the favourites
Don't bother with them, this is a chain - the fact that we discovered much later - and they are everywhere, but the food is good and the fact that they are everywhere means you should be abel to get good food without waiting in line
Be warned, deep dish takes 30 minutes to cook but it's worth it

After exchange it was 45$CDN (tax, tip, small deep dish - more than enough for 2 people, a salad and some pop), might seem a bit much for lunch but it's a full meal and you won't be hungry for ages after

There is a 1,5 hour wait which drove me nuts, but the pizza worthed it! It wasn't really my type of pizza - I like the real Italian ones, that are thin, and less cheese. But the experience was great! the stuff was very friendly and the atmosphere real cozy!
