In Chicago, the Loop is happening during the business day, and it shuts down evenings and weekends. We did date night one evening at Lloyd's and were thrilled mostly with the high quality service, but also the high quality adult beverages. The food was OK, and the wine list was odd. Because it was not a theater night (beware the pre-show crowd when the Lyric Opera is in session), we had exceptional, attentive service. The place was only 1/3 full, so it was a little quiet, but that was just fine. It's now on our good list of Loop bars. We'll be back.
If you're in the loop, either as a resident or visitor, and you're comfortable with a low-key place, this is a good spot. If you need a high-profile, jam-packed, ultra trendy place to remember Chicago by, this is not your spot.
