Description: Kinzie Chophouse, one of the only female-owned independent steakhouses in Chicago. 2016 celebrates 25 years of service and we at Kinzie pride ourselves on setting the standard in fine dining with our service and cuisine. An authentic Chicago neighborhood restaurant, The Kinzie Chophouse is nestled in the River North neighborhood. Steps away from the Merchandise Mart, we are both a local favorite and a repeat destination for visitors to the Chicagoland area. The newly remodeled interior welcomes guests to a bright and beautiful dining room--complete with oversized leather booths, intimate seating arrangements and jazzy background tunes all blend together for a true Chicago experience.

The night we visited, the restaurant was full of groups, leading to a lively atmosphere. However, it was quite hard to have a conversation!

The service is a little stiff, perhaps too formal, but nonetheless, pleasant and polite.

The menu, including the various cuts of meat, was explained well and everyone was happy with their dishes. The steaks are wet aged, making for a juicy cut and all were cooked as requested. The fish special was inventive and delicious.

The restaurant is one of the more affordable steak houses but a dinner for 8, with only main courses and one bottle of wine came in at £40 a head.

Wife and I enjoyed dinner at the bar. Great, friendly service. Food was excellent. Friendly room and good happy hour prices. Can't comment on dining room as we stayed in bar.

The interior of this steak house is exquisite. Each table is very comfortable while close together, it is quiet. There is a fun bar area with dining as well. Our steaks were excellent, sides great, and wait staff very friendly and outgoing. This is an excellent location for a date or business.
There is no valet parking, so plan on parking in the street or in the nearby garage. A reservation is a must as the wait time is very long on a Saturday evening.

This is not a large restaurant so reserve for the dining area, but the bar is OK too if you are looking for an impromptu spot for a great meal. My wife and I split everything with no hassles: salad wedge, steak, baked potato and mushrooms. No problems, all was very good with great service. The bread here is almost too good. Extensive wine list, but not cheap.

I've been going to Chicago one a year for a week for 30 years for a conference
Kinzie Street does not have the big name like others but it simply the best hands down
Love it
